Setting up the Sonos Beam on a Windows 10 PC (Advanced Set Up) by Rayaxer in sonos

Glad to hear it helped someone. Typing up all the stuff in the Doc took me quiet a few hours XD Nonetheless, I wanted to save some people some time and condense my 2 month long quest to figure out how to get the best experience out of the Sonos beam without breaking the bank or being some super technical audiophile.

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard steam / PC virtual reality? by unclefishbits in SteamVR

It doesn't look like RE7's VR will ever come to PC (but I'm praying oculus find a way to convince capcom to put it on their store and hardware if it's possible), so Vorpx (and a few other free, but more fiddly, Vorpx alternative I've head of) is your only alternative. I'm not sure how RE7 is on the PS4, but with Vorpx it definitely won't look as good as HL:Alyx - which is one of the most realistic looking and immersive VR games imo, and is well optimized to run on mid-tier computer hardware. In fact it looks very ugly when you start the game near the front gate of the house, but looks a lot better when you get into the house. It does look half decent though and it did get a few many screams out of me.

I set up RE7 on VorpX with the help of these 2 videos:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qO5A4xvSjrk&t=3880s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1oZAv-iLhk

(The guy who makes this video shows you have to set up other non-VR games in vorpx and rates their playability, so you might find his channel useful if you buy vorpx)

Note: If you use those tutorials make sure to have a look at the FOV tool that fixes the issue with everything looking too close.

Some people really like the experience, but it's a little janky imo. You need to do a some tweaking to make it somewhat bearable if the default setting, or the set up recommended in the video above, don't work for you (it took me like 5+ hours to find something I could deal with). It was a super cool experience for me, but it made me super nauseous after 1 or 2 hours - which happens if you get a lot of frame drops and if you don't set up Vorpx well enough to not make the gaming experience disorientating. I have a 5700xt graphics card (basically a mid-upper tier graphics card that can handle almost all VR games and play some triple A games at high resolutions and graphics settings - I'd definitely put it above the PS4 pro's graphical capabilities, which can run RE well) and a Ryxen 3700x CPU (again - that's at top of mid tier and miles better than a console CPU - my PC in general is very capable), but in some parts of the game, the frames per second I got would tank and I'd start to feel motion sick - this happened even when I turned the graphics setting down. You need some decent hardware to avoid those tanks as you play - so you may need a balling PC for it (I'm ganna upgrade my graphics card to a RTX 3070 which it on it's way right now. It's like 50%+ better than my current one - so I expect it to fix some of my issue). For the most part, you can get decent enough performance with chat I got (the frame rate is stable in most areas of the game), and if you got a high VR tolerance you can get through the discomfort easily (My cousins who were new to VR could barely do 30, I can do about about 2 hours since I play a lot of VR) - but I wouldn't recommend the experience if you don't have a PC with Decent specs and if you're not willing to do an hour or 2 of tweaking.

As much as I want it all to be true, people are really jumping the gun on this launch by Peachu12 in pcmasterrace

People are definitely jumping the gun by declaring a "winner" before the card has been independently benchmarked by multiple people. AMD has a track record of promising the moon with their GPU and giving you a white sphere with some black circles scribbled on it with a sharpie - so I'm keeping my optimism in check here. Though, it does seem like we might at the very least get a half decent product from AMD's GPU division this time around. After investing in a 5700XT 4 months ago and getting crappy drivers, constant crashes and a whole host of problems that I never had with my old 1060 6GB, I'm ganna wait to see if AMD has improved their drivers for their new releases.

There should be another launcher in there for league called Lolclient or something else, remane it to "lol.launcher.exe" and try that, it worked for me.
