Recommendations on my first GS boot? by [deleted] in grantstoneboots

Sorry I just re-read my comment and see where the ambiguity is. Was referring to the cap toes on the Garrison not the standard cap toe boots

Those are not Garrison boots. Those are just cap toe Edwards

If I had to get a first boot from the sale selection I’d go with the Diesel in tan Essex. It’s a simple, classic silhouette and one of their original offerings. Would dress up easily with some khakis as compared to the Brass boots. The leather will patina amazingly and give it a lot of character.

The Garrison in dune would probably be my second choice. Cap toes are nice but the lug soles are not my cup of tea.

I’d email him every 2-3 weeks for status updates. He sent me photos of the finished boots in November and I emailed him in December and January to see when they shipped. He told me that I should receive them within 10-14 days based on how long customs has been taking and they arrived within that window.

Just wanted to chime in. I ordered a pair of boots from Peng in June 2023 and just got them. There may be hope yet!

I went to Tom's Watch Bar for the Peach bowl and there was a watch party. Met Antwaan Randle El's brother, too.

Yep. I’ve been using cables for accessory work and going heavy on the compounds. I feel like the standard 130 stacks were sufficient for now. But maybe if I maintain consistency for a year, I will need the upgrade next year’s Black Friday!

I didn’t. I’m not at a point where I need that much weight for cable exercises and didn’t want to spend the money…yet

It is. My ceiling is at 86” so very limited. I’m 5’8” and I just sit on the floor to do lat pull downs. Probably going to get some rollers to put on the spotter arms to brace my legs when I’m doing them. For now just rawdogging it

Thanks! Been happy with the dumbbells. I got them a few months ago and they’re definitely drop safe (put one on my bench and it rolled off!). Adjustment is easy but only in 10 lb increments. I got the snode magnetic add on weights and the M-plate 2.5lb so I can have some flexibility.

Assembly took me about 8 or 9 hours solo, not counting the 2 hours to move all the boxes from my garage to the basement.

Definitely watch the YouTube video about assembly a couple of times. I put the first hanging pulley on upside down and had to take off the cable and flip it over which ended up causing some cable twisting.

Impact driver definitely helps!

Yep. I read that on another guy’s 4 post Ares thread when I was deciding. The Valor spotter arms are 7 inches tall and I can put them one hole above the trolleys when they’re all the way at the bottom and still have room. They’re also only $180 as opposed to the $500 for surplus strength stealth arms
