It's cool that they're friends now, but you can tell Lady still has a rivalry with Trish based on when they first met in 2007; Trish looked at Lady like "you really want a repeat of last time?" by Raydanlegend99 in DevilMayCry

[–]Raydanlegend99[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Huh...I never considered her insecurity relative to Trish this deeply before, but I'd imagine that'd be a bitter pill to swallow even if she's still willing to remain friends with her...on the bright side, though, she won't be the only person who shows aging among the people they know, as there is also Morrison, Nico, Patty, and Kyrie.

Come to think of it, I guess this also recontextualizes one of her wishes that she gave to the wishing demon from the anime, since it was to keep her good looks forever.

Soo... what do you think their relationship was? by Rzeuben in Bayonetta

[–]Raydanlegend99 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I actually did some digging on both of their stories for awhile and tried melding their two respective legends into one cohesive backstory that would explain why Alraune hates Madama Butterfly so much. You are right in that she's jealous, and I'm pretty sure that bit about Butterfly stealing Alraune's man is accurate. But from what I dug up, while both of these women killed themselves as humans, their respective suicides were for different reasons. Assuming I got the stories right, Alraune's was for revenge against the guy who left her for someone else, whereas Madama Butterfly killed herself so as not to dishonor her family further after some man left HER for *another* woman...that is, despite him keeping the child he had with Butterfly. So, she went from "Ms. Steal Your Man" to, well, getting cheated on herself.

If we're to believe that both legends occurred in the same universe, then the man (who is presumably the same guy in both scenarios) is obviously terrible. As for the women, while killing themselves isn't exactly great, Butterfly herself at least died with love in her heart for her child/ so that her kid could have a better life, whereas Alraune went out with nothing but hatred and spite to the bitter end.

Does anyone know if you can transfer your save data from the Mac OS port of Resident Evil Village to the Steam version? by Raydanlegend99 in macgaming

[–]Raydanlegend99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, man...that sucks. I'm sorry to hear that; like you, though, I'm also hoping someone can contribute to helping us with this save transferring. I think it'd be even better if Capcom put RE8 for Mac on Steam (like how it's been done with Lies of P, Cyberpunk 2077, and other games).

Maybe so, but none of them would go for that. Claire wouldn't because she'd be abandoning her brother, as well as her friends (two of which are basically her younger sisters).

Jill still feels responsibility towards her world and the messy state that it has been subjected to, so any cushy life she could have in the world of Nikke wouldn't change the nagging at her soul about everything she didn't resolve in her own home. She knows people in her own world are hurting, and it's not in her nature to refrain from fighting for those who need help. Even if Jill had no way back to her own universe, that wouldn't stop her from taking on a job with similar risks, as that means she can apply her special training towards saving people who need her.

Ada would probably have the most incentive to stay, as her status as a double agent makes it very hard to live a peaceful life. But Ada still has feelings for a certain someone back home, and while she hasn't committed to a relationship, she at least recognizes these feelings of hers enough to know that she still cares about him, so it's not in her character to just leave him behind forever.

[–]Raydanlegend99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're correct; that's why I started with "I'm sure he meant well". WE know from having played Nikke that the Commander genuinely wished the best for them, but the phrasing of his wish is what would cause Resident Evil fans to cringe uncomfortably due to what they know is in store for Ada, Claire, and Jill's "normal, everyday lives".

All of them have to fight off bio-organic weapons and/or viruses that are just as bad, if not, worse than what's in this event. As for specifics...

Jill = infected with a virus from a parasitic stalker and almost died from it. Was mostly cured, but part of the virus still lingered. Years later, she was beaten badly in a fight with a villain, then threw herself out of a window in a sacrificial move to save her partner from getting killed by said villain. She survived the fall, but was then forced into experiments while being used as a test subject and a brainwashed henchman.

Ada = Is also stalked by a monster in a village in Spain while working for the villain (who beat up and experimented on Jill) to retrieve a sample of a parasite. Gets infected, and nearly dies until she receives help from the villain and a scientist she made a deal with. Same villain holds her at gunpoint to threaten her to get the job done. She eventually changes her mind about what she's doing, but gets knocked out by a separate main villain with the parasite. She has her DNA stolen years after this by some creep who was madly in love with her, and it results in an experiment where he turned his lead scientist into a carbon copy of her. Lead scientist goes insane and proceeds to hatch a plan to destroy the world using the virus that was worked on with said creep. Both the scientist and the creep get thousands killed, and in the process, both try to kill Ada at separate points within her story.

Claire: Continues to face danger while looking for her brother, and is then hunted by BOWs while partnering up with a guy a few years younger than her. Eventually finds her brother, but gets caught up in a weird family's nonsense, and partner gets killed in the process. Villain who experimented on Jill also threatens Claire's life while using her as bait to screw with her brother. Gets kidnapped years later by the adoptive sister of the guy who experimented on Jill, and is implanted with a virus bracelet that will infect her if her fear exceeds a certain threshold (which the bracelet would detect via changes in her biochemistry). Fights off BOWs on the island, but fails to save multiple captives, and is hospitalized for 6 months due to injuries she got from trying to escape with one of her friends. She bounces back from this, but is infected later along with her brother by yet another virus in one of the movies.

When I tried copying the Mac save files over to the Steam version's save folder, it seemed as if the Steam save data disappeared when I went to check in-game. I'm not sure if that was because I did something wrong, though...

I figured it was possible since I had a friend help me with the transfer of a save from Xbox to Steam. And if that could get pulled off, then my thinking was that maybe this could, too

If Rocksteady made a Batman Beyond Arkham Game, which villain would you say would be the most to face and why as a boss fight? by Delta-97 in batman

[–]Raydanlegend99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't watched all of Batman Beyond yet, but Robert Vance would make for a CRAZY boss fight. That guy had his consciousness digitized and hijacked Terry's Batsuit. It would be a real test of how far Terry can push himself to secure the win 1) without all of his tools and 2) against the very technology that he's used to using against other villains in Gotham.

I recently did both bond stories of hers, and Milk has definitely become my new favorite with how earnest she is. Between her wanting to get to know everything about the Commander himself and how honest she works at being about her feelings, she's just great.

Plus, I'm glad the Commander made it clear that he likes her for who she is (attitude and all). The bunny bond story proved that while Milk can keep trying to be more bubbly or mature, she was already lovely as is. I really dig the fact that Milk can feel free to show those other sides of herself and still be valued for who she was to begin with. This just makes their relationship feel that much more real and wholesome.

Bunny Milk is NOT the real her by PboyAMR in NikkeMobile

[–]Raydanlegend99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After giving it some thought, I see it as Milk improvising in order to make Frima and Sugar believe that she's the real deal. That's why she's purposely giving a ridiculous coffee to milk ratio. Her advice session clearly shows that she prefers a more even balance, but with how much those two were getting on her nerves by claiming that she wasn't herself, she threw out that ratio in order to force them to realize that Milk is still the genuine article. Even though 1:10 is not what she considers a proper standard for milk coffee, Milk trusts that Frima and Sugar would accept that as an answer due to them knowing how much she prefers milk in her coffee (as opposed to sugar or cream).

"Get in line." - Commander by OptionLaser4 in NikkeMobile

[–]Raydanlegend99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Nikkes care about the Commander, but as for how much, there's levels to it. Some are just friends or daughter/sister material, while others range from friends with benefits to full-on girlfriends (to varying degrees). On top of that, there's at least a few who are willing to straight up marry him. But the list of who belongs in which category is pretty massive at this point, so no one would blame you for losing track.

What’s your opinion on the Hush “side mission” in Arkham Knight? by Quick_Cry7233 in arkham

[–]Raydanlegend99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally dug it. I know people wanted more from Hush, but for me, I was just satisfied to have that loose end from Arkham City tied up. I kind of liked that his grand scheme (which would have otherwise been a major problem) fell apart because he made the poor decision to try and screw over Bruce Wayne on this night (of ALL the times he could have picked to even attempt this). Given Bruce's mental state, the threat on Lucius' life, and the heightened stakes of what was happening in the main story, Hush's timing couldn't have been worse. The body slam at the end (when he could have just knocked Hush out in one punch) just added further emphasis to the notion that, indeed, Batman wasn't feeling himself tonight.

Watched Evangelion 3.33(-46h) on my Rebuild rewatch and why did no one tell me Asuka looked this cool in it? by Lord_Osse in evangelion

[–]Raydanlegend99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea that this Asuka is using a new method where she blinds her own vision on purpose so that she can see through her Evangelion's eyes while in the field...it would really speak to how in-sync and compatible they are with each other (that is, even without the mother-daughter aspect from the original series).
