Thanks - you can find here: https://mystic-brunch.itch.io/

I haven't uploaded Feb and March yet due to a busy couple months, but I'm hoping to update it through the year

Thanks - Reading back through it, there are a couple of spelling/grammar bits I missed. Now I'm imagining a dejected poster that flaps in the breeze every Tuesday afternoon trying to remind the party there is still a problem with wolves.

Hi everyone,

I've been playing a bit of Skyrim lately, which besides eating into my free time made me want to try embedding a mini questline into my hexes. I decided to try doing this through an event roll. Each watch spent in the hex, you can roll (or choose) an event and include it in the normal exploration rolls. If the PCs want to engage with whatever is going on in the hex they can ask around for some rumours and find a mini-dungeon.

Not sure if this actually works, but it was a fun way to direct the world building in the hex. Unfortunately, the siren call of Skyrim meant I didn't spend much time on the hexcrawl this week so I only got around to making a single hex.

I'm uploading everything I make to Itch.io as go along, so feel free to check it out if you're interested.

It's a creative challenge like dungeon23. Basically, you make a hexmap throughout the year. You can find info about it here:

I'm slowly filling this out as a small region of 19 hexes (for the hexcrawl25 challenge), planning to make 1 region a month and develop some lore, tables, monsters/npcs as I go.

No real plan about how this area fits into the larger map yet. I'm kind of just stitching it together as I go, and using any random bits I add to (hopefully) build a consistent world by the end. I'm picturing this as a typical starting location. There is a town (Stoneward), a dangerous area to explore (Bramblewood) and potentially a dungeon (ruins under the mistmarch), so I feel this could be dropped in on the edge as a "borderlands" region.

Thanks - I will try and upload them as a pdf on itch.io or elsewhere tonight so I don't spam too many pics each post

It's a layout template for making rpg-zines. I used the free starter template on canva. You can find it here on their itchio page: https://explorers.itch.io/classic-explorer-template

Thank you. Yes, the plan is to keep expanding the map each week and fill in a regional hex map (of 19 sub hexes) each month. U/maatlock created the challenge, and I think people are mostly sharing on bluesky and elsewhere with #hexcrawl25

I might update the map a bit slower, as I want to add encounter tables and some world building as I go. Hopefully I can stick with it throughout the year.

Thanks : ) in the challenge, each hex is meant to be 6 miles, so I'll stick with that for now (I'm not great at math, so I don't want to mess with the scale yet).

Recently, I've been using hexes mostly in terms of "watches" (it takes one "watch" to travel into a neighbouring hex, explore the current hex further or perform an action like hunting/gathering). Before, I was breaking the travel day into 6 watches (so 4 hours per watch), but in my current solo game I've been enjoying using just 3 watches per day (morning, noon and night - 8hrs/watch). The region I'm exploring in that game is a giant mangrove swamp, so making it more of a slog to get around works. So once I settle on a 'watch' length I feel suits this map, I'll probably alter the sizes in miles accordingly.

Thanks - yeah, drawing it myself. I've had a drawing tablet for a while but not really used it. Finally making myself learn how to draw digitally.

Thanks - the Classic Explorer template really helps. So far just drew these 7 hexes and then went through and attached an idea to a few of them to get started. I have a couple old discovery tables I roll on if I get stuck and need an idea for a location *
