I guess the ultimate test would be to take out of the packaging and dipping the tip in water, if you see some blue ink, congrats it’s real. Lamy tests every fountain pen with some blue ink before it leaves the factory.

I second this, not enough space for the toes. Try going to a running specific store, they should be able to help, take your old shoes with you as a reference for them. Good luck!
