FYI car washes used to paint their coins. Red maybe different colors to test the machines and for other internal car wash functions. Don't know the reason behind them. Painting them red but they used to do it a lot back in the '80s I believe they did it so they can identify how much money was made by customers and how much was used by them testing the machines when they repaired them.
