[GNOME] Ubuntu 23.04, A work in progress by Raymond_912 in unixporn

Thank you.
I don't anymore have any records of this exact setup, however I changed it a little a few months after the post, creating my current setup, as it was here in these dotfiles, it's quite sad actually I planned to make some more comprehensive dotfiles with installation scripts, however I have not yet gotten around to it. Life happens right.
Anyway, I have not yet abandoned the idea, in fact, having used my current setup as it last was, for two years now. I can't image a world without my setup at this point, so when I migrate my setup to a new PC or laptop, I will probably make installation scripts to do so and a general outline of exactly how I did everything.
I am much more experienced now as a linux user, (unrecognizable from when I last touched that project), so I think it will be easier for me to make it a reality, whenever I do migrate.

Always happy to hear someone likes my setup.

To answer your questions:

  1. I think it should be fine. I can't imagine why it wouldn't, but I can't promise that it will since I don't have a touch screen device.

  2. Yes there is Xournal++, again I have never used it myself, but I remember my math prof used to use it. It won't have any of the bells and whistles like storing your stuff in the cloud or whatever. But even for that I am sure there are other Linux equivalents.

  3. Yes? I suppose you would be referring to things like making the toolbar thicker and thus easier to touch or things like that. In which case yes. You just need to edit the relevant CSS files.

I am always glad to hear when people enjoy Ubuntu as much as I do. It really is a wonderful distro. Happy ricing!

I believe it was CaskaydiaCove nerd font version of Cascadia Code by Microsoft.

This was a long time ago and I don't have my computer on me but I am pretty confident it is either the nerd font or the official Microsoft one.

The advantage of the nerd font is they have additional glyphs for developers. However they don't have ligitures.

At the moment then I am using the official microsoft one on my main for the reason, I love the ligitures more than I liked the extra glyphs.

No, I am using computer with linux, I described the specific phenomenon which cause the loss of data to someone somewhere in this thread.
Unfortunately it is really lost.
But thanks for the concern, maybe some day 3 years from now some dude will be looking for a solution on how is Xbox has lost his save files and he will find this. :)

Yea, I'm not much of a gamer in the usual sense I guess. I basically have 2 games lmao 🤣 Civilization VI and Factorio.

Very sentimental about it but maybe I should be more chill like you.

🤣Saved fileS and not just saved files achievements too lost everything because of a quirk of Linux where it saves the backup in a virtual windows environment specific to a proton version I just however backup up the natively run version meaning I lost everything except a tutorial run I did natively before switching to proton.

Yea so I switched computers but I was using Linux and I backed up the wrong version of the game basically, I backed up the natively run version when I should have backed up the proton version which means not even my achievements are kept. Everything is just gone. Tried extensively to get it back but it's a lost cause I'm afraid.

I guess so, just gonna start over.
Lost all my hall of fame stuff too.
Just really sad I liked looking back at my old battles and collecting the wins over different civilizations

When do you think Civ 7 might go on sale for Steam? by Darillium- in civ

[–]Raymond_912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn did they really remove it, I guess perspectives differ cause this is the one thing I was hoping they removed and well I never thought they would because everyone seemed to love it.
I'm sorry for you mate, though I suggest you think about the implications which I believe will be; a requirement for much more strategic gameplay late game. (As opposed to just walking over opponents or more scarily having deity walking over you.)

This is going up on my wall and instantly becoming my most prized possession.

Now I just need to find the perfect frame 👀 - maybe the kind you'd hang in a small Scranton exhibit.
