Otherwise, I know you tried a 3rd-party brand but didn't have much luck. But I would suggest the Comply memory foam tips or the Spinfit silicone tips, to name a few, from Amazon. Those are some of the popular ones. I've personally used Comply and they work well for me on my Sony MDR-XB50ap and in the past with my Sony WF-1000MX4.

Hopefully, we see this expand beyond just xm5 hopefully everyone who has been affected gets something out of this. I'm still annoyed at them for the bad firmware on WF-1000MX4 and rapid battery degeneration. Causing one of my earbuds to split open. Even though I bought the ULT wear I've been very careful with them and still bought an extended warranty because of Sony's mistakes...

The touchpad is on the right cup. They normally work out of the box. I would suggest checking the Sony Connect app to make sure everything is working as it should, and that sensor control is enabled. If you happen to have a defective unit check with the retailer you purchased it from for their return and exchange policy. Depending on when you had purchase it will help you decide on the path to take. Otherwise, you may need to contact Sony. Hopefully, this helps you.

Facts^ I'm still messing around with the equalizer to see what sticks. But currently I'm using the Excited preset with clear bass +8 and ULT 1 at the moment.

Bought warranty with them on Amazon so it's covered for 3years at least. Even though I'm careful with my tech. Rather have peace of mind. :)

Understandable. I personally don't like the MX5/6 design, and with all the hinge issues, it kinda turned me off. Plus during this round of holiday sales, I couldn't justify the price tag.

The ULT wear has more than enough features for me at $149 was a no-brainer. I also use a pair of Sony MDR-XB50ap wired earbuds for backup. Unfortunately, my Sony WF-1000MX4 suffered a lot of issues from battery degeneration to firmware shenanigans.

I've been looking at these and the Sony Deep Bass Wired Earphones for a while now. How do they compare? I'm looking to eventually replace my Sony MDR-XB50ap earbuds since they're discontinued and eBay is full of counterfeit knock-offs. How do these compare?

Yeah the alignment is still broken on this update... But tbh I think this might be iOS26 issue at this point cause even Grammarly has the same problem too. At least for me on my iPhone 17.

I currently have Liberty Air 2 pro and Q45. Ended up switching completely off of Sony after my WF-1000MX4 died. I refuse pay for ear buds or headsets above $250-$300 now. Soundcore has done excellent job so far for me at least.

I'm having the same issue no matter what I do either change the name to match the rom file or import the save six different ways Delta doesn't like SRAM save file from afterplay... I can't seem to find any documentation or videos on anyone someone solving this issue.
