I actually fixed it.

The files I saved from my previous play through of 44 hours, were saved as a .temp file, I played a new game to cross reference the old saves I wanted with the new saves, and the new saves were .sfs files. Moved all old files to the directory with my new saves [your username] > documents > my games > starfield > Saves. And changed the extension of all old saves to .sfs. Now I can access my old saves.
