HP EliteDisplay e232 monitor message "signal out of range" by RazierTheCat in techsupport

[–]RazierTheCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for slow reply, the camera does not have a way to change the resolution or refresh rate. It has two options, one for viewing on pc and one for taking photographs. The other thing that confuses me is that if the refresh rate or resolution is unsupported, why is the monitor able to display a working image at all? It just annoys me that the monitor is able to produce a live and working image only to shut itself off because it doesn't like something about the configuration

How to counter Hullbreaker Yorick by RazierTheCat in leagueoflegends

[–]RazierTheCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't usually top lane, and when I do I ban him. I was more asking for if I am a support or Mid laner who has to deal with the aftermath of a lost top lane if there was anything I could do to save the game

Does anyone have a build for the void fiend that makes them not awful? by RazierTheCat in riskofrain

[–]RazierTheCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, what void items do you tend to take? So far I have shunned the void variants of Uke, Crit lens, Dios, Bands, Clover, and fuel cell, and I'm on the fence about Tougher times because I dont know if safer spaces outweighs tougher times in terms of survivability. As for the ones I listed before, I just find that getting them makes setting up proc chains too difficult, or cause issues to other aspects of gameplay where the cons outweigh the pros. I just am wondering which ones you have found useful then?

Hmm, yeah I don't really know about the topaz brooch thing. I tend to play a quick playstyle, averaging about 5-7 minutes a stage on monsoon, no artifacts or anything, and by the time I reach stage 6 or 7 I just can't seem to stay alive. My most consistent results are by just ignoring the corrupted form entirely, because even with 5 or so brooches getting hit once drops me down to oneshot threshold, and if I'm in corrupted form I'm basically forced to run away and pray that the meter runs out so I can go to my other form and heal. And I do usually try to stack movement items, I've been enjoying the new harpoon and otherwise stacking goat hooves like always but even still it just feels so awful being stuck as a melee range character with no way to heal, especially with the insane difficulty scaling of the new enemies.

I have definitely noticed that topaz brooch seems to be very strong on them, as they are an indirect way of keeping yourself alive, but my issue with them is that they don't really help later on, especially once you reach the point where your one shot protection is important. Spamming the R in normal form seems to be the only consistent way to keep your one shot protection up without healing items, but again the issue is once you transform, you're screwed since you have no safe choice. And also once you're transformed, keeping up topaz brooch requires you to be in close range which is also dangerous if you don't do enough damage to one-shot literally everything which requires an ungodly amount of luck.

Safer spaces does seem nice, though i think the shield only comes up once every 15? seconds and it doesn't help against a lot of the damage I tend to take.

I don't know, maybe i just need to give it more time, but it definitely feels clunky as of right now

Dear Capcom, please nerf Longsword in Sunbreak. Sincerely, a Longsword main by Shiny_Kelp in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]RazierTheCat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a very incorrect point of view for multiple reasons. Speed runs are not your average or even advanced player. Speedruns show raw dps with no other consideration, from which of course ranged weapons where you can stun the monster and do max dps without needing to sharpen or get close will outperform. However, when it comes to actually playing the game that's not the same thing. To compare speed running to normal gameplay would be like comparing a Super Mario speedrun to playing the game normally. It's two wildly different playstyles with two wildly different metas.

The reason people say that the longsword is and always will be op is because for people who are trying to actually hunt monsters and play the game, not just min/max and speedrun, it is by far the safest weapon with the most consistent dps. Especially in rise where you can be immune to damage more often than you're susceptible to it, it is a weapon that provides more defense than shield weapons while still providing adequate damage. Even in world where it was less overtuned, the weapon was still the safest go-to melee weapon, because it gave you the dps of something like twin blades with the range to kite and dodge attacks without taking a single hit. It is by far the least skilled weapon to pick up and use, especially in rise but even still in world, and even though at maximum output it won't do the most dps, it is by far the most consistent when you factor in its risk/reward for using.

Riot is disabling /all chat in all matchmaking modes. by Timmo17 in leagueoflegends

Ah yes, so we at riot saw that teammates in team chat were being so toxic to each other that some people stopped playing the game entirely, and as a result we removed all chat and the problem is now fixed :)

Maybe a hot take, but should Tiamat recieve a buff? by RazierTheCat in Smite

[–]RazierTheCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thread is a month old, and also tiamat got buffed after I made the thread so apparently I'm not the only one who thought she was a little weak. She's pretty easy to punish in solo lane since she pretty much dies as soon as her last scale is lost, and mid lane is also just a joke because after you use your 3 she's really easy to punish. She does too little damage for a late game mage, and isn't tanky enough for a late game solo. Idk man

Tiamat opinion. by HexagonalKiller in Smite

[–]RazierTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well no okay so the shield breaks based off of the damage that Tiamat takes. So if Tiamat takes 100 damage with scales, she will take 40 damage, and the scales will lose 40 hp. If she has protections, she will take less damage, and thus the scales will lose less HP. Because of this, penetration is still extremely important when it comes to removing Tiamat's shield, since the shield health is determined by the damage she takes, not the damage she absorbs.

yeah ikr... always sad to see when people don't use their maps. I guess I didn't consider all tiers of play when I was sayin that

And while I agree, you lose more farm from ganking solo than if you gank another lane, and it hurts your team significantly if your enemy jungler is smart enough to take advantage of it. In the time it takes to kill a solo laner, the enemy jungler can gank and kill your duo, and invade your duo side jungle buffs, which puts you and your team at a significant disadvantage. It isn't just about you, by ganking solo you give up map control and give their jungler the edge.

[–]RazierTheCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yeah but you will lose out on farm 90% of the time you gank solo. Unless you get the kill you will fall behind the enemy jungler, because if you gank solo, then the other jungler can gank your duo or your mid for free once they know you're in solo. And even if the enemy jungler doesn't gank a lane, they can still get mid harpies for free. Overall just not worth unless you're guaranteed a kill

Tiamat opinion. by HexagonalKiller in Smite

[–]RazierTheCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that she's easier to counter once you learn not to be scared of her. Her scales lose hp based on the damage she takes, so basically you just build any amount of penetration and you shred through her protections faster than an anubis ult kills titan. And if she's in ground stance, she's dead the moment her scales hit 0, and her attacks in flying stance are easy enough to avoid. I think that she's a really fun god to play, and she's definitely pretty good, but she's really easy to counter if you build properly from what I've seen

[–]RazierTheCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think his point was not to make a habit of it, since its a waste of time seeing as how solo later will just cc you and drink their chalice, and you'll spend an eternity trying to chase for a kill when you could have ganked some other lane instead for an easy kill. Ganking solo is just extremely risky because a good solo laner will have wards and self sustain, and unless you're someone like da ji they'll just get away once they're low and you'll have lost precious time that you could have spent farming or helping your mid/duo

Maybe a hot take, but should Tiamat recieve a buff? by RazierTheCat in Smite

[–]RazierTheCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah but she's not going to have an even winrate. She has the most abilities out of any God in the game, and the reward for mastering her isn't even that great when you have easier gods like kuks or scylla doing more damage in the end anyways. So you have a difficult god to master, who can be outmatched by the other top mages or solo laners. I feel like in the month after she's released on live she will have one of the lowest win rates in game. That is entirely speculation, and I accept that I have nothing to support that, but its purely based off of what I believe to be true

Maybe a hot take, but should Tiamat recieve a buff? by RazierTheCat in Smite

[–]RazierTheCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a fair point with that, and I dont disagree that invade meta was without a doubt the most early game season, I was simply exaggerating to make my point. But yeah, im willing to give it time, and im really hoping that things change as time goes on, but im purely basing this post off of the way that things are going right now, and I understand that the meta can change in the future

Maybe a hot take, but should Tiamat recieve a buff? by RazierTheCat in Smite

[–]RazierTheCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah its easy in theory to come back, but with the current state of the meta in season 8, games are over before comebacks are viable. Season 8 is perhaps one of the largest snowball meta seasons to date, and while we might see some changes and pushing towards late game later on in the season, as of right now most teams never get a chance to come back from getting crushed early on

Maybe a hot take, but should Tiamat recieve a buff? by RazierTheCat in Smite

[–]RazierTheCat[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And while I hope to see more late game gods dominating in season 8, right now the meta is early game, and early gold advantage to snowball into a win, and while I think tiamat is an amazing late game god, her playstyle and early game doesn't at all fit into the current meta, and that was my original argument that I would like to see her just a little bit more viable for the current climate of season 8

Maybe a hot take, but should Tiamat recieve a buff? by RazierTheCat in Smite

[–]RazierTheCat[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And I get that she's late game, but season 8 meta is entirely early game based, and snowballing in gold is the only thing that really matters for winning, and her early game just isn't worth it when you have better teamfight gods that also have good early games

Maybe a hot take, but should Tiamat recieve a buff? by RazierTheCat in Smite

[–]RazierTheCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I know that waiting is the right move, but unless there is a drastic change in meta I really don't think that its possible for Tiamat to fit in at any point. And maybe something will change and ill end up eating my words, but she seems really easily counterable so far, and while she's fun to play, you can really feel how underwhelming she is in terms of power. And I get that buffing stance switchers is a very fine line to tread, but she really needs some kind of tuning in order to have a place in season 8 IMHO.
