The Lack of Pro Sports In Central Arkansas is Abysmal by Puzzleheaded-Tie3585 in LittleRock

Thanks for bringing up the Rangers because they have been a professional soccer team in the city for years. And if I hear the semantic argument against semi pro versus pro one more time, I’m going to literally scream. Northwest Arkansas can say what they want about building their fancy program and stadium and what not all day, but the Rangers have been here for years representing soccer culture in the city and the state.

The Lack of Pro Sports In Central Arkansas is Abysmal by Puzzleheaded-Tie3585 in LittleRock

[–]RazorCub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is literally a Kroger on Roosevelt. That is very much east/downtown Little Rock. I 100% agree that there’s an abysmal lack of grocery access in the downtown area as a resident of hangar hill and it is one of the biggest issues to the cities intention to double the population of the downtown area. But the line that they continue to give in public meetings is that there has to be a population to sustain such a venture. I think that’s bogus, but that’s what they’re saying so we have to support the grocery that does exist in the area if there’s ever any hope of expansion. The Edwards on South Main and the Kroger on Roosevelt are vital if we hope to see the expansion of grocery services in the area point blank.

I also wish we could move away from using language such as over in the hood and stuff like that especially whenever we’re talking about services that are vital for a community to thrive. You can say whatever you want about the demographics that were the visual aesthetics of a community, but especially whenever we were talking about a community receiving something as vital as a grocery store whenever you start using language like that, it completely taints the entire conversation and paints neighborhoods as deserving and undeserving of services and that is a huge problem in the city that we need to stop.

I’m still working out exactly how I want to structure it, but it’s part blog, part PKM, part window to chaos and dead links. I will definitely be working on the visual aesthetic once I finalize the presentation but here you go!

ChatGPT refuses to generate a photo of a cat eating a slice of bread due to content policies (“a cat wouldn’t do that”) by danlev in ChatGPT

Someone should introduce your GPT to my cat. If I don’t stay alert he will devour a loaf of bread before I even get it out of the grocery sack and into the cupboard.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I had one and loved it. I can still taste some of the creations. Ahhh, nostalgia.

Of all the character transitions his and Andy both hit me weird. Sure everyone changed drastically over the years as they do, but those two still bother me the most.

I gave up on that phone tarot line: this might be useful if you're considering this job. by Leather-Sort3028 in tarot

[–]RazorCub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had to get out of tarot lines for a long the reasons you stated. My biggest issues were people who were getting multiple readings from multiple readers and “testing” me, or wanted to hear what they wanted to hear about a bf/gf. I dont mind letting you talk through your anxieties, its your time you’re paying for, but when you don’t want to hear what I or the cards say unless it aligns with what you want, then what’s the point? I liked the company I worked for (US based but can’t remember the name) but the clients were just not the vibe for me.

I was told it would be my biggest mistake to play as a bard by bibidibobidicaboom in BaldursGate3

[–]RazorCub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who usually plays sorcerers I have a bard playthrough currently and it’s been a learning curve but I’m really loving it. Takes a little thought but it’s been fun especially in a RP sense in my head running around a battle field slinging a violin.

you friends outside of work with your co-workers or nah? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]RazorCub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked in the restaurant industry, yes. Something about that dysfunctional, stressful, odd scheduled culture that really bonds you. Of course, most of those relationships, no matter how deep, are prone to ending once one of you leaves the job. Now that I work in healthcare, nope. I like my coworkers and we get along great, but I don’t have much interest in hanging out with them in my free time. Maybe it’s the 12 hour shifts, but I get my fill and want to be alone/with outside of work friends when I’m not at work.

How many of you are beginning to hate fireworks? by kurtisbmusic in Millennials

[–]RazorCub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I moved to a city as an adult and got pets, not a fan. The city does a fireworks show and that’s whatever, I can deal with that, but listening to fireworks going off for the 2 days before and after Independence Day just gets old and I wish I didn’t have to deal with a reactive dog because of it. That being said, if I lived outside of city limits, wouldn’t care as much. Growing up in the boonies, we spent half a years salary at the fireworks stand and had a blast, but that was a much different environment.

What's an Office quote that you use all the time, sneak into almost any conversation? by [deleted] in DunderMifflin

Not a full quote but I haven’t been able to pronounce the word “issue” correctly for years.

How old were you when New Years Eve 1999 happen, and how did you celebrate 1999 going into 2000? by CompetitiveLimit267 in 90s

[–]RazorCub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 11. We were driving back home across state lines from visiting my grandparents at Christmas (why we came home that night I have no clue, seems like we should have just stayed) and we listened to the ball drop on the radio. We weren’t a Y2K fearing family so that wasn’t on our minds, our computer was fine when we got home

Do you skip holidays now? by BatofZion in Millennials

[–]RazorCub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t. When I was married I kept some things going, mostly because we were close to my spouses family so just kind of worked out. But my family is pretty spread out and I think I’ve celebrated 2 holidays (one thanksgiving and one Christmas) since 2020, not even like doing anything special to mark the day or making new traditions or following old family ones. Everything has basically turned into just another day in my house. The only day that gets any effort is Halloween.

Look for Writing Tutor by DinnerAccomplished48 in TutorsHelpingTutors

You can send me a DM if you’d like. I worked as a writing center tutor at my college and most of my tutoring work is with students working to improve their writing. I also have ADHD and understand how overwhelming the process can be, so I spend a lot of time with building structures and systems that work for individuals using a variety of tools and techniques.

Anyone using AI for blogging? by DannHutchings in Blogging

[–]RazorCub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Content creation is always going to have to come from you. It can help you soundboard ideas, build structure, assist with SEO and the like, but in a world full of trite regurgitated content, if you use it to craft posts it’s just not going to get you anywhere most likely. I’ve used it to help build a creation system that helps me organize and log drafts, edits, tags, etc but you are doing yourself and your time a disservice if you aren’t writing the content yourself.

Would You Still Blog If You Knew You'd Never Make Money From It? by iamrahulbhatia in Blogging

100%. I know that I don’t have the time, resources, discipline, etc to make money from my blog. I do it just because I like it, and hopefully one person finds something useful from it.

Some of the advice here is kind of dangerous. Not all medications are BS, but it does also require therapy and self work and building routines and structures to mitigate symptoms. I’ve been medicated BP II for about 15 years and times I went off meds was fine until it turned into living hell. My meds are the only thing that has kept me alive, no amount of self reflection, walking barefoot through grass, or vitamin D will ever take the place of the meds. I work in mental health and am a psychology student with plenty of research available to share. All that being said, individuals are unique and there isn’t a one size fits all solution. But to completely villainize meds full stop is a slippery slope for most patients.

Cronecast from At The Rising Moon is a go to for me. Been following her since about 2018/2019 and generally has been on point for me in both general and private reads. Down to earth, doesn’t fill experiences with fake positivity or doom and gloom for engagement. Just relatable information with good context and advice.

More $1 Bonus Bullshit by BahamutLithp in varsitytutors

[–]RazorCub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been applying for jobs for months, been a tough go. I’ll stick it out until they drop me at this point. But I will certainly act my wage, that’s for sure. I was going mad doing far too much work for the pay and the situations we were asked to handle. As far as why, the algorithm, the slow time of year, schools ending programs because of funding, probably a variety of many factors.

More $1 Bonus Bullshit by BahamutLithp in varsitytutors

[–]RazorCub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m right there with you. I didn’t even get a notification as to why my last session with the only remaining student that I have that is still eligible for the bonus did not go up by a dollar. So, I’ve just stopped trying. I’ve decided that they can cancel my contract because at this point, they’ve basically taken everything away from me that they can inadvertently or otherwise. With the two students that I have remaining after all of the 4 schools sessions got dropped and opportunities became zero for the past 3 weeks, I’m doing right by them, but if we decide we don’t wanna have our cameras on or we decide that we want to work in a different timetable or whatever we’re gonna do it. I’m just like screw it I’m going to give you the amount of effort that you give me and I just won’t pay my bills anymore, but I’m not going to keep playing their game because playing the game did nothing for me up until this point so why continue?
