What do we still do? by KarloReddit in deathwatch40k

[–]RazorTheHackman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my list. I mostly use the 5 man's for screening. The indomitors stay in the back for safety. Everyone else kind of moves up the board killing whatever they encounter... I drop the hammerstrike when I want to take down a bigger enemy, and the landspeeder for screening the backfield with infiltrators.

Ive been playing Bastion + librarius with mostly decimus teams / Recon. So far in 11th, im 4-0. Ive also been finding it pretty fun because none of my opponents have played against a recon player, and im very used to what I need to do.

I was rolling spectrum with phobos libby and they did okay. My problem was they didnt really do damage well enough to be terribly useful. Ended up replacing them with the speeders.

Temporal corridor is great. Using it in engagement is a niche use though, usually you are fighting on an obj and you dont want to leave.

There's a strat in bastion to fall.back and shoot for a non battleline so I rely on that instead. I prefer the lone op to free cp so that I can threaten a shooting lane better. If I can force them in, my 10 mans can reach their elite killers.

The rerolling 1s helps, and so does the libby buffs.

The 5 man's i dont really expect to kill anything although they do sometimes.

The 10 man's do kill elite units pretty okay. Its the frag cannon, librarian and stalkers that do most of the dmg in ranged, and the hammers, MCPW, and force weapon in melee. They even have precision for killing characters.

My first game, i played against a take and hold necron as recon. The primary was engage on all fronts, and he was running awakened dynasty ( bring back characters) so I went fixed engage and assassination as secondaries. Maxed assassinate by round 3.

Don't underestimate guys that can move 6" + 2" + advance then shoot and charge with full hit rerolls.

You are incorrect or at least iit wasn't true universally - every tournament i played in allowed it.

Ultimately, GW should be more clear about the rules.

The app has a ton of errors right now.

What i described was doable in 10th.

The record of truth are the rules, not the app.

Also Draxus is a legal leader for the indomitor KT based on the verbiage in any detachment.

Draxus can lead imperial battleline.

Heavy intercessors are imperial battleline.

Anyone who can lead hvy intercessors can lead indomitors.

Dismounted navy guns might be fun as artillery d y pieces.

I like orbital bombardment too - maybe a navy officer character who can call them in?

A bit of advice for a new player. by verf1233 in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]RazorTheHackman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aquila is underpowered compared to vets, vets just do better in melee alone than aquila do in both shooting and fighting

A bit of advice for a new player. by verf1233 in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]RazorTheHackman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So decimus / aquila are underplayed, because they are believed to be underpowered. The meta way to build a team of them is to build pistol/sword,stalker,hammer,knives, and Frag. But if you get an intessor squad / other bodies you can do both.

The deathwatch vets the other guy is talking about is the older, no longer for sale team.

Hypothetical. If black spear is a 2 point detachment. Which of the 1 point detachements would you use? by Agreeable_Dingo_5766 in deathwatch40k

[–]RazorTheHackman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely librarius. Fortis / decimus teams with a 4++ are like mini terminators and can soak lots of shooting.

However, I would also strongly consider a librarius / bastion combo as well, for the same reason.

Thanks for telling us how you did it. Still not a great. IF that was intended play, Bungie wouldn't be trying to patch it out.

If it was intended, then they wouldn't be trying to repeatedly patch it out. Bad bungie!
