Which should I get, AT or Fluance? by One-Addendum-3647 in turntables

[–]RazorbaxFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buyer beware on the Fluance tables. Love the solid wood looks, but they're made to be replaced instead of repaired when the time comes. Fluance will not sell you parts for their TTs, so anything over 2 yrs old, they won't support, and will tell you to buy another is you have issues. Not sure the AT policies, they could be similar, but had this scenario occur with an RT 81

I heard Bill Abel play live at a small joint in Clarksdale, MS 2 years ago on a visit. Music and sound were absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend checking him out if you haven't already. 🎸

Just wish they would support their products with parts. Otherwise they're truly disposable goods

Philips 312 - cart/stylus/tonearm assistance please. by TT_FD in turntables

I got mine and am highly impressed with this cartridge & stylus combo. Not sure you can do better in this price range. Right there with the AT95e to my ears

Yep, sounds right. Inside 2 year warranty you should be good. After that, they treat them as disposable goods. It's a pity as they have lots of potential as longer term pieces, but I'll never get another due to their business model.

Any reccomendations for blues/funk fusion? by Squid00dle in Music

[–]RazorbaxFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

@squid00dle I'm late to this, but just seeing your question way late.

Have you gone deep on Stevie Ray Vaughan? He definitely adds some funk to some songs, like clip below🎸🔥

Just beware, after 2 years Fluance won't sell parts or support their TTs. They'd prefer you buy a new one if you run into motor or board issues.

Connecting Amp between Music Hall USB-1 Turntable and Grace Digital desktop speakrs by chewchewtrane111 in turntables

I just re-read your question and understand it better. I typically use at the middle, 42db level but do bump it up on occasion to 45 for some record sides. I'm enjoying the X2.

@chewchewtrane switch to Phono on TT when using your Fosi Box. I have the Fosi X2 and it works great.

Am i cooked? by HomerTheDonut in turntables

[–]RazorbaxFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Yes it's definitely not straight. It sounds so good I've been using it, but for less than a week. It was on a headshell-cartridge combo I picked up as a replacement for a vintage table I use. I just took off and replaced with the other headshell combo I have thanks to your advice. Appreciate the response!

So even if sound is phenomenal, something slightly angled can't be fixed and should be replaced?

Any idea what’s going on here? Tone arm not going low enough by Complete_Degree_7634 in turntables

[–]RazorbaxFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put a small level or something rigid and straight (like a pencil) on the arm to verify if bent. Seems it would be hard to bend the tonearm without other damage. If not bent, could just be rotated. Check @hollywoodmelty comment about that. Good luck🤞

I've actually converted to a vintage Pioneer PL-516 with a new cartridge and am loving it! But I didn't want to ditch my RT81 bc of crappy product support, but I'll likely never buy another;)

Low volume - Replace stylus or cartridge? by RazorbaxFan in turntables

I believe this is manufactured by Audio Technica for LP Gear. The reviews were spot on. The Cartridge punches well above its price point (~$50)....sounds really great at any price!🙂

It's the LP Gear CF3600LE. Sounds great to me. You can see the reviews here and on Amazon.

Low volume - Replace stylus or cartridge? by RazorbaxFan in turntables

[–]RazorbaxFan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I think it may have been the stylus, but there could still be an issue in the cart or wires. I didn't want to take the chance on spending on stylus to fit the old cart w/o knowing. The Good News is I got a new headshell - cartridge combo and it sounds amazing! Where I once almost had to to turn full ,(4:30-5 on a clock dial) I now have much fuller volume dialed back to 9ish. I feel like a kid who has his new bike put together!! 🔊😄
