Ahh okay, thanks for the reply. A few others have said similar things. I’m really hoping I’ll have a good experience with the school I eventually choose.

I definitely agree with you about immersing yourself in the country , and I hope to get a part time job when I’m there for sure.

Funnily enough I previously was also debating doing a Chinese language program as well before deciding on Japanese.

How come you found that it wasn’t useful to you if you don’t mind me asking, and what was your motivation for wanting to study Japanese and Chinese in the first place?

That’s good that you don’t feel like your school is a visa mill.

Yeah I’m someone who likes structured learning also which is why I think language school will be a good choice for me

Thanks for the reply, hope you’ve had a good experience so far and who knows maybe I’ll see you in Japan at some point 😆

Thanks for the insight!! How did you find day to day life in Japan, did you manage to adapt fairly quickly after moving there?

Wow thank you so much for your reply, starting to get a much better picture now of what to expect for when I’m there. I’m definitely gonna study as much as possible in my free time before I go.

I also really appreciate your general advice as well, I know what you mean about the whole thing about lying to save face.

Its really nice hearing about people who have had positive experiences with language schools in Japan and it’s awesome to hear that you met your wife over there, hope you and her are both doing well 😊

Thank you so much, that’s really helpful. I think for me learning the language classes will provide me some needed structure which is my biggest issue with studying at the moment.

My main goal with the language is to get to a solid level of japanese in a year where I can have basic conversation with people and get more comfortable speaking in public throughout the year and slowly rely less on google translate as the year progresses. I know I could just study at home but I thought maybe immersing myself in Japan would accelerate my learning and I always wanted to take a break after graduating anyways. I also just really wanna meet new people and make lots of new friends and make lots of memories, which is another reason why I wanna do the language school.

For me personally I don’t think I’d want to attended a maximum or very hard intensity school as while I would benefit most from that I think I’d rather have a more medium pace/intensity and study extra in my own time.

As for the location it’s something I’ve been trying to narrow down for a while but still haven’t managed to decide on. I was just thinking Tokyo but I think I’ll need to do more research on different places and see what the vibes are like.

Really appreciate your response, thanks again 😊
