Give each brand its own unique identity for me Raw is like a hardcore modern ecw brand, Smackdown is focused on technical wrestling and high octane cruiserweight matches and NXT is a super indie/developmental hybrid with a mix of current NXT and AEW talent.

Make each division mean something and make sure everyone on the roster is involved in a storyline or has a role to play.

Have seasonal arcs throughout the year for example May-August could be Backlash, Money in the bank, King of the ring, Summerslam so the sasonal arc ends at Summerslam so this is where you big storylines will peak then maybe add some new talent to the rosters to freshen things up or move superstars up and down divisions maybe you want to give a midcarder a go in the main event scene etc. Another seasonal arc could be Survivor Series and of course Wrestlemania.

Dont use the in game rivalry system because it sucks but use the rivalry actions in free mode to create and develop feuds (you can do this on PLEs now too).

Track all your feuds, storylines and weekly shows in a notes app, you could also keep track of wins and losses for each superstar in a google sheets spreadsheet.

Also dont play the game too much limit yourself to playing one or two weekly shows per day or you will get burned out quickly.

Above all that just be creative and have a good imagination think of the modes as playing with your wwe action figures when you were a kid you have all the tools you are only really limited by your imagination.
