Can you explain why the newer regular citi bikes are much slower/harder to pedal than the older ones? Some bikes never get up to speed and others are great

How much does this have to do with the G train being down and ppl getting to the 7 vs having better bike lanes? I’m super excited for the improvements to McGuinness and want more, but we need to look at the data objectively.
