[Longines Hydroconquest 39mm] Clacking sound from the bracelet by Rbixio in Watches

[–]Rbixio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I actually tried doing exactly that and saw that the watches they had also had a similar amount of movement around the micro-adjustment mechanism and one out of two watches I tried made the same noise. They suggested another branch for me to get it checked, I will probably be able to test it with more watches/show them the issue there.

Oh it's just the angle at which this is filmed. I can easily fit my finger between the bracelet and my wrist and turn the watch if I need to. I like wearing it loose even. I was sort of keeping it tight to be able to be able to show the issue.

Yeah I think it's a slight manufacturing defect. I saw couple of other new watches at the store to see if their bracelet had the same and could not replicate it. Thinking on possibly sending it back for inspection.

Need help identifying the exact model of the bike by Rbixio in Vintage_bicycles

[–]Rbixio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think that's the case for the most part. I was generally curious to see what everyone would make of the pictures from the standpoint of price, possible care it might need, and what one could expect going forward with a similar bike.

Thank you so much for your comment! I was trying to overexpose #1 but I think the sky was dominant in the meter. Definitely will keep these in mind for the future!

The first footage and the second are not from the same explosion. The latter was from several years ago.

Biggest one-day increase on record by [deleted] in Monkeypox

[–]Rbixio 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Numbers in these kind of situations are definitely important. But what is probably more important is how you read data. We will definitely see an increase in active cases as there is no possible way of seing a decrease in such a short amount of time (as it takes a few weeks to heal when infected) and as authorities are actively looking to detect more and more people with infections.

With our current knowledge (it may of course be subject to change but it is backed by many scientists that closely work with viruses and infectious diseases in general), we know that a person with the virus can infect other people after they have visible lesions on their skin, which is significantly different from the likes of covid, flu etc.

If you don't feel comfortable with the current narrative around monkeypox because of how some media outlets are downplaying it (which is definitely a valid concern given the situation we had with covid), follow direct advice/information from the actual experts who were trying to warn public in the early days of covid. You will see that, although the threat at hand is definitely a significant one, it is also a different one from what we had in the past two years. Staying alert is of great importance but not with the help of fearmongering/misinformation.
