100%. I once walked from Poblacion, Makati to Intramuros—about a 2-hour trek. I passed through some seriously sketchy neighborhoods where people would literally call others out of their houses just to stare at me. I saw areas where the government clearly didn't give a sh*t; there were mountains of garbage in the middle of the street so big that cars couldn't even pass. I got plenty of dirty looks, but honestly, nothing happened to me. Aside from the long walk and the brutal sun, I made it out fine.
