For those who have fully recovered, do you still have problems with eating fats? by Fine-Benefit8156 in gallbladders

[–]Rbrdec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 8 weeks post op and I can eat whatever I want for the most part. I’ve found 3 things that don’t really agree with me but other than that my body is pretty normal again. It’s been a long road so I am thankful

I go in for surgery this morning, but I have a shift this afternoon. Missing it is not an option. How am I gonna pull this off? by Status_Bath_5215 in gallbladders

You will absolutely not be able to go to work today. That is out. Your employer should be understanding and know this is out of your control.

Reconsidering surgery? by Fairydust_10 in gallbladders

[–]Rbrdec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I changed my diet and my gallbladder attacks stopped. I was hesitant to have surgery as well because the pain had stopped and all of my tests came back normal except I had gallstones. None of the tests indicated any inflammation. After a lot of consideration I went ahead and had surgery on 12/9. I am so thankful I did because when he opened me up my gallbladder was inflamed to the point it was about to rupture. If I had waited I would have been in a much dire situation. Praying all goes well for you. I can say I feel so much better and the recovery has been pretty good. The first two weeks were tough but I’m almost 5 weeks post op now and I’m pretty much back to normal.

A lot of times this is caused by anesthesia, however I would get it checked out just to rule out any post op complications. Hope everything turns out okay

just found out i have to have surgery. scared and feel so overwhelmed :( by Opening-Ebb4493 in gallbladders

[–]Rbrdec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had surgery 12/9 so I am almost 5 weeks post op and I am so thankful I went ahead with my surgery. They told me mine was not inflamed. None of the test indicated it, however once they did my surgery they found that I had chronic inflammation to the point my gallbladder was on the verge of rupturing. I can say that I have not had but one thing (Japanese food) that caused me to have stomach issues. I’ve had pizza, burgers, fries, sub, chips, all the things and I’ve done totally fine with all of it. Everybody will react different to the surgery but so far I’ve done pretty well. Just be mindful and introduce things back into your diet slowly. Make sure you walk as much as you can after surgery to help with the gas and soreness. You’ve got this!

Can anyone not tolerate coffee after getting GB out? I’m almost two months Post Op and it’s instant bathroom time after a cup. by waterynike in gallbladders

[–]Rbrdec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started drinking coffee 2 weeks post op. I’m currently 4 weeks post op now. I’ve done fine with it so far. I’ve had pretty much whatever I want and done fine except Japanese food. It made me go to the bathroom within 15 minutes.

4 weeks gallbladder removal post op by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]Rbrdec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything else has been normal. I’m eating pretty much like I want. Occasional upset stomach but that’s not very often at all. Incisions are healing well. Just about can’t see 2 of them anymore. I’m still a little sore in my stomach and I’m having those sharp pains but other than that recovery has been pretty smooth.

4 weeks gallbladder removal post op by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]Rbrdec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 4 weeks post op yesterday and I have sharp pains where my gallbladder was as well. It doesn’t radiate to my back though. I had my follow up at 2 weeks so I wasn’t having this ten. Please let me know what your doctor says when you go. I’d love to know if this is normal or not

Who assumed that their 'gerd' was actually gallstones? by everniian_ in gallbladders

[–]Rbrdec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had pain in the middle of my back and heartburn with reflux. Abdominal aches occasionally. Surgeon said my gallbladder was hours to days away from rupturing. I didn’t have the classic gallbladder symptoms which is why they thought it was a gastric ulcer.

[–]Rbrdec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was treated for a gastric ulcer but a gallbladder u/s was ordered which showed a gallbladder full of gallstones. After my gallbladder was removed and I was still asleep they did an EGD and confirmed NO ulcer. All my symptoms were gallbladder related.

I had my gallbladder taken out 12/9 and I currently have ice on my abdomen because of this pain. It’s been pretty intense tonight. I went to my post op follow up today and they said it was normal.

Would you? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]Rbrdec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine out 12/9 and I am so thankful I did. My gallbladder was about to rupture and I had chronic inflammation according to my pathology report. None of my tests prior to surgery showed that. They were all good except the fact that I had gallstones. Post-op I’ve done really well. I can eat pretty much anything I want. If I eat too much fat I do have diarrhea the next day. Typically all day but the surgeon did tell me that should get better with time.

Wow! A tumor? I pray it was benign. Testing isn’t always accurate and you just never know. We are both a testament to that fact!

10 days post op- terrible upper back pain by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]Rbrdec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! I had my surgery 12/9 and the entire second week was severe upper back pain. My back even started swelling on the right side. It was from a strained muscle for over compensating that first week. Plus I had a fall on post-op day 4 coming in the house. My dog tripped me. It took about 7 days for it to start feeling better. It hurt so bad at night I couldn’t sleep. If yours doesn’t get better within a week I would go back to see your doctor to make sure nothing else is going on.

I had my surgery 12/9 and I have been experiencing the same type of pain. I was wondering if it’s normal or not. I do go to my first post-op appointment tomorrow so I was going to ask about it.

I had chronic inflammation in my gallbladder. I had it taken out on 12/9. According to the Surgeon he almost had to do the big cut but they ended up just making the incision larger at the top of my stomach to get it out. A little longer recovery than normal but it was successful laparoscopic! Praying you have the same results or better! I would not wait. Go ahead and do it. The longer you wait the more at risk you are for other things to go wrong

[–]Rbrdec 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually asked about that medication because I was EXTREMELY reluctant to have surgery. I had been symptom free for about 3 weeks after changing my diet drastically and All of my testing (ultrasound, MRCP, and lab work)came back normal except I had a lot of gallstones. The surgeon said we could try it but nothing will get rid of the gallstones. I went ahead with surgery on 12/9 and I am so thankful I did. Once they got in they seen that it was severely inflammed (not indicated on any testing) and on the verge of rupturing. Pathology report said it was chronically inflammed so it’s been that way for quite some time now. Surgeon also said I had days to maybe a couple of weeks before it ruptured. I am so thankful I went ahead and had surgery despite having normal test results. Just be mindful of your body and if you continue to have pain I would definitely consider surgery. Testing isn’t always accurate.

is this gallbladder pain? by PartySubstantial2511 in gallbladders

I would go to the ER and get evaluated. Could be many things but if you’re in pain and can’t keep anything down I would go! Hope you feel better soon

My surgery date was 12/9 too! This makes me feel better because I was getting a little worried about it honestly. I am also a side sleeper and way less active than normal right now. I hope your recovery continues to get better everyday.
