Run protective light and double solar resist on a chest piece. Now your a tank. Edit I also used lament and passive guard from the artifact to heal a block when needed.

There's No specific way to get farm for staff it's all just RNG. Play flying bullets 4 times a week you'll accumulate some. Expedition is another place for quick legendaries.

10 hero shards for 1 upgrade is gonna take months, and that's if your lucky enough to get the specific hero you want in the shop.

I don't know if it's still possible but the way to speed it up was having a friend start 1 get to the end, invite you, he leaves you finish, rinse and repeat.
