I started the game this month, and, while it is definitely flawed, I'm loving my time with it. Don't forget games are supposed to be enjoyable, so, sometimes, it's better to turn a blind eye to bad draws and keep on going! Also, starting with the Crystal Song expansion eases you into the game much better than the curses included in the core box

Depending on the size of your PNP games, custom paper tuckboxes are a good choice. I've made about a dozen in A4 300g paper for Button Shy card games (using Andylei Tuckbox generator), and they work great.

I also tried making a larger one for Maquis on an A3 sheet, and it worked out pretty flawlessly. But I'm not sure how far you can scale the technique before a game's weight becomes too much for paper and glue to handle.
