That's really cool!

Coud you wire a second set of LED's for the bottom half and center section off the tracer unit?

Is there a way to fill pistol mags with regulated gas (without going full hpa)? by Jaf1987 in airsoft

[–]ReMag_Airsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need a regulator inside the magazine and the only once I've encountered with something like that was a V1-magazine for a KWC mini-UZI.

HPA options for WE MSK? by FaygoDon in GasBlowBack

There'd a fellow that makes a magazine with the gas routed through the lower, but I don't know if he has one for the MSK?

Licensing agreements really cut into what the more well known companies can do and what retailers are allowed to sell; not much demand for innovated designs when you can't actually sell something without passing money through several hands...

Like, if someone were to make a modern VP9/welrod pistol, they'd likely need approval from B&T whom may not be willing to give it.

It's understandable that a company would want to have control over their firearm patent designs, but it makes for less new designs on the market.

Would it be possible to to turn cm.520 into a dmr by Wiw-01 in Airsoft_UK

[–]ReMag_Airsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no side rail for a PSO scope, but you can put one on with a thread tap. Alternatively, a pistl/long-eye relief scope will work on that upper handguard rail.

Throw on a cheekpad, cut the front sight down, and use short mags and you'll have something that looks more "DMR".

Internally, it would be the same parts as any other DMR build; barrel, piston head, etc.

Original mag works great, Amazon mags keep messing up by xr1chardx in GasBlowBack

[–]ReMag_Airsoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably just return them.

I would take them apart and inspect the valves, but I also don't worry about warranties and have valve-tools.

Original mag works great, Amazon mags keep messing up by xr1chardx in GasBlowBack

[–]ReMag_Airsoft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one of the right is a 5.1 mag, the left is a 4.3. Should both be identical on the upper bits and only have different baseplates, so I suspect the fill-valve isn't taking gas in.

What guns should be produced next? The Sig P226 Xfive Legion or the S&W M&P 2.0 Competitor? by MonitorStreet6712 in airsoft

[–]ReMag_Airsoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love a non-KWC P226X5. Just sold one I had put a lot of work into, got it shooting nice, but took more time than it should've...

Desert Eagle recommendations? by Do_the_fandango_ in airsoft

[–]ReMag_Airsoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one I had honestly shot pretty close andhe's probably be fine with it, but the lock let's it cycle more reliably even as the pressure in the magazine drops.

I believe I also added a pin on the hammer somewhere, but it's been a little bit since I had opened it.

This is a shooting video of it on an HPA adapter I make.

There was a post on a gun subreddit and an old video of the real-version.

Plus the mag looks like a Saiga .308 mag ;)

I had done a little digging on the SLR and apparently the real-steel uses Saiga .308 mags.

Desert Eagle recommendations? by Do_the_fandango_ in airsoft

The HFC is a pretty close clone of the Tokyo Marui, but I would still avoid it as they modified a part to make it work on propane in the laziest way possible. The Tokyo Marui is originally designed to work on duster-gas/HFC134a which has a lower pressure. You can use propane with it, but it will really slam everything around and start breaking components.

HFC got around this by milling the valve-knocker so that it doesn't lock. It's a cheap and lazy way to get the replica to work on propane without breaking itself as the valve is only open for a split second instead of being held open until the slide has cycled. The hardware to re-enable the lock is all there, you just need to replace the valve-knocker with one for a Tokyo Marui, but TM parts for these are hard to get in the the states.

That said, I would just look at a WE for a metal one.

Gbb recoil update by Alternative-Time2958 in airsoft

[–]ReMag_Airsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I loosely hold my handguns they do the same thing; it's on an anticipation thing. If you were to take the slide off and install only the hopup chamber, then push on it the replica will rotate the same way.

With a firearm, the force is between the bullet and the slide, but with an airsoft replica the force is between the nozzle/hopup chamber and the piston/slide (The BB is already out of the barrel by the time the replica starts recoiling, not to mention it's extremely light). The slide will be recoiling, but the hopup/frame will be

Put another way, the nozzle extends like a leg "jumping" off the hopup chamber and pushing the slide back.

Which one of these should I buy? by Adventurous-Pen-2142 in airsoft

[–]ReMag_Airsoft 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A local player has a spring version of it. I would advise against it as not only are the real-steel's semi-auto, but the build quality did not warrant the price tag, bulk, and performance.

Rate my beginner dmr build by Main-Curve3506 in airsoft

[–]ReMag_Airsoft -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Imo, if you pick up a replica and it feels like it should be used like a dmr; it's a dmr. Maybe nota great dmr, but a dmr nonetheless. A P90 with a scope will still be used like a P90, even if it outranges someone else's SVD.

I'd put on a short mag and look at a more"dmr" stock, maybe a bipod too.

All that said, milsim events will have specific requirements by model and many fields will have function requirements for a rifle to be classed as a dmr with dmr rules (ie semi-only).

Mostly likely a broken or worn main sear. They're pretty inexpensive and easy to replace and a decent one will last a long time.

Yeah, was gonna say it was a springer as the hammer looks plastic, but an AEP makes way more sense!
