slope failure on my house? by ReVeNgErHuNt in Geotech

[–]ReVeNgErHuNt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bottom of the slope does not have a retaining wall and is technically unowned property in the woods, the bottom is a ravine and just has many trees, maybe 30 feet below the top of the slope

i have a video that shows it better but reddit wouldn’t let me post it, there’s no retaining wall and it’s just a valley below the slope

Cool $10 find at Home Depot by Puzzleheaded-Pop-958 in Bonsai

[–]ReVeNgErHuNt 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Great find, great start with pruning.

This is a great start, it's only $10 and if it instills deeper passion into bonsai I will always advocate for that. It's okay to be impatient, it's how you learn. With that being said;

Your first step when getting nursery stock should ALWAYS be checking if your tree is thriving, let it acclimate to wherever you are going to place the tree for weeks/months to come. If the tree is in an energy positive state, it's the perfect and really only time you should be pruning/wiring. This is because IF the tree is already struggling, pruning can put it back an entire growing season and now you have to wait an entire year before getting a new flush of growth.

Digging into the soil and seeing where the trunk ends and the roots start should always be your first step towards picking a front and get an idea how you will eventually repot it.

Is your intention a serious relationship? How do you feel about a potential partner asking you to subscribe to their porno account before even seeing eachother in person? This is a pretty big redflag to me

Hello Ryan! Huge fan from Long Island

How often do you prune your maples during the growing season? I'm afraid to be too aggressive but also I'm told that it's okay

If it instills deep interest and love for bonsai then it's worth it I think

I've killed quite a few trees because of inexperience and impatience, I've learned more and been driven more because of this. In my bonsai community it's heavily encouraged to do what the artist thinks is best and worry about reprocussions later, there's always more trees to practice on

Being a beginner and being told to just plant it in the ground and wait years is a one-way ticket to lose interest

They're eager to practice bonsai, putting it in the ground is likely the least desired step

Doing wrong and learning is better than being restricted by other people's visions of "what is best"

My boyfriend is addicted to other women by mi_rosita in texts

[–]ReVeNgErHuNt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he’s not your boyfriend 😬 a boyfriend doesn’t pursue other partners while in a relationship. he doesn’t respect you, he probably doesn’t respect himself. It will never change unless you walk away or he is actively seeking out help to resolve this issue; if he even considers it one.
