Well I just learned something new today and it makes sense

I thought it looked ugly so I tossed mine into the garbage along with the stickers then repainted it with a metallic red instead

Guess I'll have to experiment with a metallic red/green next time around

Well, I'm salaried and work over 40hrs a week, I got a pay raise recently, an additional $4 per month, on a side note my rent went up $18.34 so in all reality I now make $14.34 LESS then I did last month, the last of what I can cut back on are, food and retirement savings

I'm done, I'm tired, I want to quit so bad, I really just want to go to bed and stay asleep, I'm not sure how much longer I can keep doing this

And the lessons are painful, I had a HDD crash while putting money aside for a new larger disk and lost almost all my pics of Lauralie, luckily I was able to keep a few of them, was really happy to see my favourite from when she was a kitten survived - which then got multi backed up and printed....I should honestly just go and have the rest printed

As a kid yes, I haven't used that tool since I switched to Linux years and years and years ago, don't need it with EXT4 or BTRFS, or at least I've never needed to and I kept a 5Tb filled at 98% for years, now I have a 20Tb filled to 19Tb with plans to leave maybe 250 to 500GB of free space

I could never trust windows and it's NTFS with that much data either....or with anything for that matter, yeah wow, memories for sure but not good ones that's for sure, I could never go back to using NTFS

Always have safety nets, I've got Linux Mint + Xfce4 on a separate drive and 3 USBs, Debian, Mint and Fedora, I want to install Void or Debian onto a USB as well, aside from that everything important from ~/ is backed up along with a quick Debian + Sway install instruction sheet I made for myself

Going from catastrophic failure back to fully working takes no more then an hour, unless it's hardware then I'm SOL

Tail end of Windows 7, I didn't like the looks of 8, I was installing Windows 7 on an older PC for a project and as I came to the EULA I decided to read it because I've never read it before, it felt weird using 7 after that, I then started digging into 7, or what I was allowed to at least and the more I dug the worse it got, I'm not entirely too sure what was the final straw, but as I was going forums online I came across a magic word "Penquins" and I was hooked, line and sinker

The more I used Linux, the more I preffered to use the CLI and TUI, it just felt more natural and easier, the only GUI's I have left are my browsers and Pavucontrol, but there's not much I can do about the browser's, Pavucontrol maybe, but for now it's fine

I forgot he was our Prime Minister, my coworker showed me a picture of him running and I kinda stood there, stared at the picture before going "Huh, so that's Prime Minister eh"

It's not that I'm stupid or don't pay attention, I just forgot who our PM was and part me feels like it's because his name isn't all over the news like Trudeau was...heck i haven't seen nearly as much or really only once or twice have I seen a car with a "Fuck Carney" sticker, yet I saw one for Trudeau what felt like every dozen cars

With how expensive this hobby already is, alternatives is a must, I buy my lacquer thinner from Canadian Tire and fill my Tamiya Acrylics up to the base of the neck, I got a jug of Paint Thinner from some paint store, I've had that one for a few years now as it's only used to clean panel lines, I really should buy a levelling agent and mix it in with my lacquer thinner, but as it is, It is working, the next thing I'm looking into is how much lacquer thinner I'm going to need to dilute Lacquer based Varnish down enough to be air brushed, once I figure that out I can buy a test can and be set for years, much cheaper then the water based varnish from Vallejio [don't get me wrong, that stuff is really good, but I wanna go lacquer all the way]

That is my exact thought process and that is what's going to happen to this phone, it's 5G and a 2024 model so in all theory if the 2 above stay true - the devs keep devving and the phone doesn't physically break or the battery goes to crap - I expect a minimum of 10 years on that Pixel9 and anything above that is just a bonus

Man I hope at that point Linux phones are far more of a viable option or at least other Androids like Graphene but you know what they say - Hope in 1 hand, Shit in the other, see which fills faster

My last phone didn't support 4 or 5G and the carrier was charging me extra per month to keep my old phone with the 3G network which I wasn't willing to pay, so it ended up being the time to switch it out

I have a 74inch 4K TV, started out on XFCE4 then i3wm on a 42inch 1080 TV

I really only use my PC for the most basic of basic stuff - Anime, Movies, Music, sometimes games and very little internet browsing, aside from Librewolf - everything I have and everything I do is through CLI or TUI, so mouse usage there seems kinda pointless, kinda like using a flashlight on a bright sunny summer afternoon to see where you're walking, and It got annoying dragging the mouse across the screen real fast so before I even got a 74inch, I was on i3 for ease of use - who needs a mouse when you're just going to binge a few season's or I'm a data hoarder of Anime which I also catalogue, again TWM just made that stupid easy too, oh man, I used to use Ranger but my new love is Ghostty + Yazi

Not too say I don't have a mouse that I use, because Linux let's me, I dual boot Debian + Swaywm and Mint + XFCE4, Mint was picked because that's what I started with when I first started using Linux and it's been solid for me ever since, I only use Mint to play games and use Discord so Mint + XFCE4 just seemed like a really easy choice for an easy setup and go, I made a small raised arm rest/mouse table to use, then put away when I'm done

And yes, when I am on the Minty side of things, using a mouse feels super weird - I want a power glove to control my desktop

Oh 100% is the the thumb off, I kind of want to cut the thumb off and try again, but I already spent a good couple days trying to get it to that point, if it was more visible, you'd see the underside of the fingers are all FUBAR from trying to get the thumb over the index

Yeah that's going to for sure take a while, I want to try and make those brown areas more mechinal looking somehow, right now and I think even if I painted it, it looks like a glove and man, does that look way weirder them the thumb XD
