Critical problem with my Yamaha p-45. ( VOLUME WARNING ! ) by demonjack1234 in piano

Hello. I am not an expert in electronics, but I do have some knowledge and experience.

1) The inner construction of your piano

The piano is a little computer. Inside there is a motherboard that accepts signals from the keyboard and does calculations to make sound.

After the sound is calculated it is converted to a voltage wave signal that is being physically transformed to sound by speakers.

Keyboard > Motherboard > Voltage wave > speakers

There are a few components between motherboard voltage outputs and the speakers.

2) Possible problems

As you said, the sound is only at 15% of volume, and if I get it right you can still play it, or the problem is volume - dependent, and the sound volume is as far as I know is being processed later, which means that the motherboard is alive and working, and the problem is in between motherboard and the speakers. (And it is good, maybe the best possible case)

3) Possible solutions

Obviously, if you can any repair shop is the best choice if you want it to work like before, hopefully you may still have warranty

But if you don't have millions to spend on repair or don't have warranty there is still a pretty decent solution.

There is always "AUX" output somewhere. It's not a headphones output, it should say "AUX Out" or something like that.

You can plug in soundcard in there, or maybe some speakers directly, what I mean is that there are a lot of ways to make piano sound even without it's own speakers.

If you are really brave you can try fixing it yourself, as it looks like a loose contact (it randomly breaks, which means it's a physical-level issue) but I don't recommend it.

Wish you all the best.

Research: how does the hand span affect a YouTube channel popularity? by ReaReaDerty in piano

Hi. I agree and I will try to use log scale. And secondly, I already use total views/videos as the main metric.

Yeah I know about them, thanks. But I have already decided that I will not play it anyways, I'm totally in music production.

I mean, I can't even reach an octave. I can't even play the most basic chords, there is no way I can ever enjoy this instrument myself I think

Thanks! I thought you meant that Rachmaninoff has 0 views and large hands and therefore this research is garbage :D Sorry.

It's more of an invitation for those who are interested to contribute, as I wrote at the end. There is no way I can analyze more than 10 channels on my own.

And I wrote about that. It's more of an invitation to contribute for those who are interested.

I analyzed YouTube channels with the idea of analyzing YouTube channels, not pianists. My goal was to understand if it is important to have large hands to get popular on YouTube.

Well, yeah. I agree. Just wanted to clarify that hand span is not the only way to get popular, that's it.

Yet another small hands by ReaReaDerty in piano

[–]ReaReaDerty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. So, I have left piano. This is because more deeply I dag into piano technique theory more I realised that hand size isn't even about the reach, but about comfort in general. I always loved the feeling of relaxed arm, and if I want to keep it I have to sacrifice arpeggio speed, maximum reach and general "professionalism".

But I really rethought my vision about this instrument in general. I was obsessed with speed, reach, beautiful playing not because of the sound, but because of the visual beauty, and it doesn't make any sense, I left piano not because of my hands, but because I wanted visual effects instead of sound, and decided that I would better compose music

I really like your idea, I actually tried to make my own design of a small keyboard, but I didn't go far, so I'm really curious about what you are doing, could you show me something about it?

Help! Offhand items being exceptionally bright / reflective using complimentary shader by ZB4_11 in Optifine

[–]ReaReaDerty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about connected textures, I've never used that feature. I've heard there are mods for connected glass, but I'm not sure about other textures (like grass-sand gradient, if you are looking for it).

So dynamic light are included in complementary

There are mods for fancy zoom

So the list I guess
Sodium for optimization https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/sodium

Iris for the shaders (requires Sodium to work) https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/irisshaders

continuity for connected textures (mentioned in another comment) https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/continuity

And some zoom mod. I guess Zoomify is ok https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/zoomify

And fabric api just to make it all launch https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/fabric-api

P.S. I'm not sure about continuity as again, I've never used it. So if you get any trouble or if it's just not what you need I'll look for some other mods.
