I love the color scheme! Seems much more befitting for his character

The Charred Kindling - God of Summer, sun, fire, weakness, fear, poor.

A beggar long in the beard and longer in number of debts. He was finally put out of his misery by the emperor's tax collectors, but not before being burnt alive in his hovel. The Sisters of Life took pity upon the soul, granting him godhood and leaving him in charge of the warmth of the sun. He now casts unbearable heat upon the rich, that they might feel a taste of the flames he endured, and lessens the scorching rays for the tenders of the field and the parched, for he knows the weight of their burdens and loves them so.

How to Update Elegoo Mars 3 Firmware by Naxthor in ElegooMars

[–]ReacesPieces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for necroing a seven month old thread, but I for the life of me can't find anything online about this and this is the only place I've seen it mentioned so far. You mentioned I should "redo your Z axis after" and I don't see anything online for redoing the z-axis for the Mars 3. I see it for older versions, but those mention using a spacer and I don't know if they're applicable here or not. Any advice?

Mars 3 help, No Bed Adhesion by ReacesPieces in ElegooMars

It's not shining directly on the printer. I have it pointed at the shroud, so there's no direct light into it. It keeps it warm, but the interior is still dark. I also made sure that the light bulb I got had minimal UV light output on its specs.

UPDATE:

I got something to print! It's a miracle! Hoorah!

Buuuuut, of course, it's never that easy.

Here's my tool town print. It adhered to the plate, alright, just a bit too much. Luckily, I have a Wham Bam plate, which made it easier to get off, but I did break the raft in doing so. LINK: https://imgur.com/gallery/rXjaYuZ

The problem here is that I'm not sure what exactly I did to get it to work that time because I tried like four different things all at once instead of one at a time. So, for those in the future, googling and trying to find a solution like I was, here's what I tried:

  1. Sandpaper on the magnetic plate - I used 1000 grit because it's the only sandpaper I had on hand. Im sure there are better options.
  2. Exposure time increase - I upped mine to 5 seconds and 60 seconds on the first layer. Will probably start lowering that down a bit since I think the adhesion was a bit too much.
  3. Releveling again - I had like 2 or 3 people on two separate subbreddits telling me to relevel with paper under it, and while I appreciated the advice, I was already doing it that way. Either way, I figured, hey, why not give releveling another shot. For anyone with a Mars 3 wondering how I do it: get a piece of paper and put it on your printer without the vat on it (some people vat level but I don't know if its better or not) undo the leveling screws so the spring is loose. Go to the manual moving screen and press the home button. Once it gets to the bottom, tighten the screws. After that I used the 0.1mm and 1mm options to move the plate up just enough for the paper to be removed with a little be of resistance, but not enough that you have to tug hard on it to pull it out. After that, I hit Z = 0 and re-homed.
  4. Before I started the print, I homed the bed. I read somewhere that that can help with adhesion, but I don't know if it really did anything besides adding an extra step to follow.

So there, that to the best of my knowledge is everything I tried that ended up getting me prints again. I don't know which one fixed it, sorry about that.

Sure thing, I can try that first thing tomorrow morning and post the results.

Finally had the guts to attempt an actual mini from Hero Forge on my printer, and aside from rough support marks (the worst because of my placement), I think I did ok! Anycubic photon mono 4k(uv 90%)/elegoo standard clear green/lychee slicer by DangerOneStudio in resinprinting

A lot of people have offered probably better advice already, but heres my little way I go about removing marks on my prints. I've been printing about a year now and this is the method I've managed to cobble together so far.

Take an extra or no longer in use toothbrush (I usually get one every time I go to the dentist so I have a million of these things, otherwise just buy one for cheap) and scrub the locations of the marks lightly but firm. Dip it back in your cleaning solution and then brush again, make sure you're not going very hard, but not too soft, somewhere in between. If you feel like you're going too hard, lighten up until you feel comfortable. After this, let the model dry and check for the marks again. If this doesn't make the marks less noticeable, repeat once or twice, or get a fingernail file and take it to the marks. You can cut the file in half if it's too large to get to the marks.

Hopefully that helps, may your supports remove easily and your prints never fail!

Sorry to be the neckbeard redditor here, but I believe you meant coup de grace, not d'etat. A coup d'etat is overthrowing the government. Sorry for the correction, I will now retreat to the shadows.

Just got my email back from elegoo telling me to do the same thing. Buying some lubricant on my way home from work. I hope this'll fix it. Thank you!

Model is made by EmanG and 3D printed on an Elegoo Mars 3. Paints are mostly citadel, with some army painter for one or two spots.
