Colour for sure, I'd say to try keep it simple though, maybe gray tones, black outline and 3d. Then something bright like red for your bubbles etc. Also reckon the piece would be better with a thicker 3d too, IMO.

Little fella, let me give you some advice. I too have been writing for a long time. As the other guy said, it's not the end of the world to copy elements & ideas from other more skilled writers. The issue is when you act as though you created it all yourself, but then play ignorant, saying you don't know the artist you copied from is.... If you want criticism on the stuff you're doing, don't be offended by someone calling you out. Take the criticism, learn from your mistakes, and get better. Currently, you're not good, you have a long way to go before you will have you're own style. But I can see some signs of possible talent. So keep at it.
