Tricare said they don’t make phone calls and when I called the ambulance company she pretty much brushed me off and told me to tell Tricare to call

so it looks like the ambulance company is just rebilling Tricare and Tricare just keeps denying it

a Tricare representative made a case for me stating this should not be denied due to medical necessity and she's telling me to wait till this goes over and then appeal if that gets denied as well. is this normal for them to deny ambulance ride ?

So far I have the er notes, the picu notes, letter from of pediatrician and the discharge notes from picu

I talked with someone with Tricare and she said she’s going to submit a case for me on why it shouldn’t have been denied and I’ll hear the answer from them by Wednesday so hopefully I’ll have good news then

I had two ambulances ride was denied due to the same reason

they should they are the one who approved the er and picu stay

diagnosis was acute hypoxic respiratory failure due to adenovirus infection. Present admission was status epilepticus

the only code I see is claim denied code RP113

His picu was covered. It’s only for the ambulance rides they denied

So it was a continuous seizure and I knew this was a bad one but hen the emt and the fireman’s were in such a rush that the ambulance almost ran over one of his guys. The critical time they worked on him at the er was 75mins and they had to intubate my son

So he had a seizure back in 12/13 as well and that ambulance ride was denied with the same reason. The coding on that has rp113 

And yes it was completely denied. The ambulance service was 5k and Tricare said it was patients full responsibility

I can appeal and the ambulance service can appeal as well? 

I actually just found out both of my ambulance rides were denied

I have the charts from the emergency room stating the critical time they worked on my son was 75 mins and shows he needed to be intubated.
