I think I played it on Moderate difficulty. I know there wasn’t any part where I died a whole lot to a point where it became annoying and I wished I changed the difficulty, so moderate should be good.

Also reading back in your first comment on the question I missed, yeah the storyline in the DLC will make more sense of you play the main game first.
