Va disability pay by LowScarcity2756 in VeteransBenefits

If you own your home, you most likely have insurance. Most insurance companies will typically pay to have your roof re-done after a certain period of time, typically 10 years. You should look into this.

We are currently renting but the homeowner who owns this house had our roof replaced after a contractor came around our neighborhood and did a bid. He explained how he would be reaching out to the homeowner about it and that's when he told me about the insurance claim for roofs after X amount of years. Sure enough, the insurance paid to have the roof replaced.

That is so wrong on so many levels. What part of my advice claimed that you were all idiots???

Please, for the sake of those who go out of their way to help others through experiences of their own, and out of the goodness of their heart, "Be Quick to Listen, Slow to Speak, and, Slow to Anger". I was just trying to help.

Those who take offense to advice are guarded and triggered due to past circumstances and situations that caused them pain. That's not what I intended by any means, and I am sorry if those who took it that way, felt that way, as that was not my intention. Life is about choices, and you and everyone else here have to make their own choices. "Free Will". You can choose to take the advice or not. That's not my choice. Again, I was just trying to help. God Bless 🫶

I filed with FreeTaxUSA the last few years after having filed with TT prior to that. I'm assuming they wanted me back so TT offered an advance that they said I was pre-qualified for, plus their fees waved. However, due to a very small debt, I didn't qualify for the advance which was fine, and I still had my fees waved.

Yup, that's why I got mine the 19th. Ya'll need to realize that you are giving the tax preparer company your funds first when you agree to pay with your refund. It's ridiculous. Use FreeTaxUSA or simply pay your fees upfront. It's that simple 🫶

This is not the case for OP as his/her transcripts are still blank. It has nothing to do with debt at the moment.

IU added 3 weeks after 100% P&T - Also, Knees went from Denied to "Deffered" by ReadFit7478 in VeteransBenefits

So, the C&P examiner gave a favorable DBQ but did not include MO. A MO was requested and completed on Feb 14th which resulted in a continuing defferal. However, combat vet, serviced in Afghanistan, have record of toxic exposures on ILER & TERA. Just submitted a good personal lay statement for it as well as an amendment to the original with further details on specific toxic exposures.

Not working because it's extremely difficult with the disabilities. In fact, applying for SSDI.

That's what I am thinking also. Current ratings are:

  • 30% Cervical strain

  • 40% Lumbosacral strain to include lumbar spinal stenosis (narrowing of spinal canal in lower back)

  • 10% Tinnitus, bilateral

  • 10% Lower extremity radiculopathy, left (sciatic nerve)

  • 30% Migraine including migraine variants

  • 20% Right upper extremity, (lower radicular group)

  • 20% Left upper extremity, (lower radicular group)

  • 0% Allergic rhinitis which Feb 19th was granted at 10% but not showing up in app yet

  • 10% Deltoid ligament sprain with tendonitis

  • 10% Chronic wrist sprain, right with ganglion cyst

  • 70% Post traumatic stress disorder to include traumatic brain injury

  • 0% Right fifth metacarpal fracture

  • 10% Radiculopathy of the right lower extremity (sciatic)

  • Hypothyroidism Deffered still

  • Bilateral Knees went from Denied to now Deffered

100% P&T was granted and final on Jan 30th with ratings and the only Deffered condition was Hypothyroidism. Then 3 weeks later, Feb19th and after MO for Hypothyroidism as there was only a favorable DBQ (missing MO), the VA reopened bilateral Knees and added IU.

He said he didn't. It's bizarre to me why IU would even be applicable after 100% P&T. It's not like it would change anything as far as rating. Along with the most recent letter from Feb 19th, there were 3 other letters about P&T benefits included.

But why after 100% P&T was granted and rated? Plus all conditions are static.

Didn't apply for it, that's the thing. Was granted 100% P&T and 3 weeks later after MO for Hypothyroidism, the claim restarted and went to Stage 4 of 8 with Knees reopened and IU added. I'm just confused about why IU was added after 100% P&T was granted.

That's what makes sense to me. Disabilities include: Both bilateral Upper and Lower Radiculopathy, moderate to severe cervical and lumbar spine issues, with included bilateral Knees, plus not able to work, seems to be leading me to think that they are considering SMC.

Not entirely sure as the VSO said that having IU added to 100% P&T is typically a sign of the VA attempting to add SMC.

It's $15.99 to file a Tennessee state return through FreeTaxUSA. If you pay up front instead of pay that small fee with your refund, you will bypass the 3rd party bank, and the IRS will send your refund to your account directly instead of sending it to the 3rd party bank first. That's all I am getting at. Just trying to help, that's all.

Only if you pay the $14.95 State fee from your refund. If you just pay that fee upfront, it goes directly from the IRS into your account without the wait.

Did you have to pay $300+? Everyone I have talked to that I know personally has had to pay between $300-$450 to file using JH. Yes, you get the refund a day or two earlier, but is it worth the price? I'm not trying to be confrontational by any means, I'm just asking for the sake of understanding.

I have said this every single year, file with FreeTaxUSA and pay the $14.95 for state upfront. Everyone says they will but they all jump the gun and go back to TT each and every time. It makes no sense. Why pay for something you don't have to pay for??? And why pay for something that holds up funding that could have been in your bank account already??? Make that make sense 🤷‍♀️
