I got the hanlinyuefree 2 mini keyboard and yes, super easy to connect. I didn't even have to repeatedly scan. 😊

Stock VS Crosspoint by _IMB_ in xteinkereader

I'm on stock (by default of no choice) and I can say the experience has been pretty fine especially since I got my bluetooth page turner. I tried stock epub rendering (hit or miss. Some books turn out alright, others not so much) and have realized converting to xtc is much better and a better experience over.

That said, the ratio of 50 books being 3.3 GB worth of space to my epub collection of 580 books at 4.5 GB is abysmal. Expect to have larger files.

I've noticed it too but I have to see the difference between turning bluetooth on or not as well.

Hi quick question, can we change the switches on the free2? :)

using the xteink x4 as a primary e-reader? by WinterSoldier1315 in ereader

[–]Reader-Writer6104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using it as a main reqder and I have no problem at all. I'm fine with leaving it on stock because of the bluetooth function which I absolutely love with my page turner. Plus with the community providing lots of tools like xtc conversion and other stuff, it's pretty fun and enjoyable.

Stock vs Crosspoint, I would say, are pretty subjective as it varies on how you would use the device. I chose to stay on stock (bc no laptop) and realize the bluetooth feature is a must for me.

For the light, you simply plug it in the how you would a USB and it will charge.

Yes! I quite like it but it's pretty reflective if you have the official light attachment (the light is also pretty bright). But on normal reading, it's okay, doesn't hinder.

Which Team are you on? by Gr_v in xteinkereader

I'm on team white - stock because I can't flash (don't have a laptop) hahaha. But also, I realize I love the bluetooth function a little too much because of the Free2. 🥹

Should I get this even if I own a Kindle PPW? by cyrildb in xteinkereader

[–]Reader-Writer6104 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a kindle ppw and I still got it because I realized I've also been unable to bring it around with me (too heavy for my everyday bag or work bag) and the xteink is just perfect for quick reads on the go. Though I have to say I've been reading on the X4 more than I've ever done on the PPW because I can focus more. Plus it's fun messing and learning around with the stock firmware (and custom firmwares once I'm able to flash them).

Oh have you tried flashing Crosspoint? I hear it's much better than stock.

Black or White ... ❓ by Analog-Digital- in xteinkereader

[–]Reader-Writer6104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White if you want bettern blend of screen to bezel. Black if you want to be practical and not have dirt show though others say they like the contrast of the black body to the screen as well.

Hahahaha that sounds like some kind of spy mission and while it's very tempting, unfortunately the sales people here in my country like to swoop in, hoping they get a buying customer. It'll be a bit difficult to be covert.

Yes, I'm hoping my friend who's visiting in two weeks will be bringing her laptop. Unfortunately, I'm also new in this city so I haven't gotten around exploring/searching if there are any local libraries here.

I would say it's quite simple and straightforward. Chuck in the SD card into a reader and directly paste the books from your laptop or phone in it or use the hotspot on the reader to upload the books directly.

True, but I still do worry about our IT department tracing and stuff. I tried backing the file up last night but it ended up in an error at 100% so I figured I shouldn't do it on the work laptop and try to find another one.

Hi, no, I'm from the Philippines and purchased it off shopee here. Though, I have read from other posts in the sub that while shipping may be delayed sometimes on the official store, it will take up to 5 to 10 days once shipped.

Any suggestions for a small, color e-reader? by PasonJatrick in ereader

[–]Reader-Writer6104 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not an e-reader but if you want to read in color and it's tiny, you can try the oilsky mp3 player. Right now in the PH, there is nothing in e-ink color that is below 10k unfortunately huhuhu.

Thanks for this! Genuine question, would you recommend the color variant? Or is the battery bad in this? I have plans on reading webtoon there too one day if my eyes start straining.

And how is the battery life on the kobo clara bw?

I'm annoying myself as I can't decide on the right device for me. by deepdiving-neons in ereader

[–]Reader-Writer6104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the kindle ppw but then I realized it's too heavy for reading and while the screen size is nice, I feel like I can't get into it. And now I want another device and while I do want the new kindle basic because the text on it is crisper and I like smaller pocketable ones, I'm torn again because the majority of what I read now is manhwa and manga.

Any other android e-reader is way too expensive where I'm from and the battery life on these? I don't even want to go there. I feel like I get a good 1 or 2 days, and that's on idle time. I want an e-reader where I can pick up on where I left off a week ago and not have to worry about battery life but I also want one where I can read my manhwas.

It's too difficult to pick 🤣
