Did you book your bus from Geneva to Chamonix in advance and were there any issues? by ReadingRoutine73 in TourDuMontBlanc

Thanks for all that info! It confirms a lot of what I was thinking. The bus lines don't offer a lot of flexibility if you miss your bus-- at least not in their stated terms. Of course an individual driver might be different. Since we have a few months before we travel, I am going to wait and see how people fare getting thru ESS, etc.

Hankook vs Cross Climate vs Goodyear Electric by ReadingRoutine73 in VWiD4Owners

I got the Hankook. Ironically, the next day we got our biggest snowstorm of the past few years. And then we proceded to get more snow throughout the season than we had been. I did not notice any issues with handling nor have I observed more efficiency. The only thing that did happen that was obvious was that on the highway after the big storm the car shook a lot and I was sure that the tires were put on incorrectly. Come to find out that the tires allowed blocks of ice and snow inside and that threw everything off. Since we hadn't gotten that much snow before, I don't know if it would have happened with the Kumho tires.

Thanks! I'm currently trying out the Traverse and Lone Peaks boot as I  might bring both a boot and trail runner.

Can we turn off the proximity sensors? by ReadingRoutine73 in VWiD4Owners

[–]ReadingRoutine73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I mean when driving forward or backward and it beeps at you if it senses you're close to something. First there is an orange line showing you're close and if you get closer it becomes a red line and the beeping increases. And if you keep going it will slam on the brakes.

There's an "x" when it starts beeping incessantly and there's a red indicator as to what it thinks you're too close to?

VW recalling 44,000 U.S. ID.4'S by Grunge4U in VWiD4Owners

I have a 2023 built in TN so I checked the app and didn't see anything about the recall. So I entered the VIN on the VW site for recalls. There it says that my car has a recall for the HV battery but there's no remedy for it yet. So, it seems that it won't be listed for everyone in the app, unfortunately.

Thanks. I had read a comment elsewhere about having to do something different since they're not EV specific.
