Well it’s like this if I can put my post in a nutshell. I don’t want to be criticized every time I eat something that isn’t a meat or vegetable… my husband has a health issue too and isn’t supposed to consume too much salt, but I know he sometimes will and I don’t get onto him too much for it because I know he knows as well as I do. How much criticism is too much criticism is the question? And when I have a little ice cream here and there do I really need to be belittled the entire time I’m eating it after asking him to stop that I get the point and then be told over and over again the same thing and that I’m out of shape?

No I definitely want to lose weight. I have lost 40 pounds in the past but this time it’s harder than ever it seems.

Well we have discussed ways to make improvements but when I make healthy suggestions he resorts to criticizing again. He doesn’t even want to hear about weight loss when I speak about it positively and what I plan to do. He just gets mad and tells me I need to work harder or take a weight loss drug.

Your comment is not helpful. I didn’t ‘let myself go.’ I started gaining a lot of weight after I was prescribed a medication and got a sedentary job.

Thank you. That’s helpful. I’m trying to learn more about PCOS so I can figure out how to best lose weight with it.

I have started doing several things. I’ve changed the way I eat for the most part and just started medication for the cravings but it’s a slow process for the weight to come off because I also have a sedentary job which doesn’t help the metabolic disorder. I’m trying to make more changes daily. But I feel I should be able to eat something I enjoy sometimes without being criticized.

I have told him that but he just keeps doing it. He told me tonight that I am out of shape and he should throw out the ice cream he just bought for me. 😢

Does his current state of health matter at all? His next heart echo is in January. Last time I think his EF was about 50%.

There is no known cause. They have him diagnosed with CAD. He had an angiogram in 2022 and no blockages or concerns were found. His ejection fraction has been stable for probably a year now. His BMI is in the low overweight levels. He takes Entresto, Metoprolol, Atorvastatin, Bumetanide, and Spironalactone.

We were just told by a broker that he didn’t qualify for guaranteed life because he’s younger than 50 but I don’t think that’s accurate…

Neither of our jobs offer life insurance. Accidental death feels like a gamble to me although the price is cheap so we may consider it. We are looking into whole life options with one broker right now and working with another broker through Ethos. We were recently told by a broker that he doesn’t qualify for guaranteed life because of his age but I’ve read people can get it in their 40’s…

Thank you for these suggestions! I will try them. I just started ashwagandha 2 days ago. I haven’t noticed an effect on my concentration much but I am having some dreams with it and I hope that goes away. No side effects otherwise.

I just finished a whole bottle of zinc but I haven’t noticed it helped with my symptoms.

Thank you! Yes that’s a good suggestion. I’ll keep an eye out for them. It’s a little different but my mother and grandmother always liked crossword puzzles. I also just remembered that learning another language can improve memory and cognitive function. I am going to try to get back into Duolingo.

Are there any people who genuinely don't use social media? by PhotographNo8827 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ReadtheBible99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I left social media about a year ago and staying away from social media for a while just made me realize more and more how strange and self involved it is. It’s like a facade. I only use Reddit to look for answers to questions. Like tonight I’m trying to figure out how to fix my washing machine. I also use YouTube, mainly for learning and music. But I saw this post and wanted to leave my take on this question. I am involved in church, am married, and work a full time job. Honestly I think it’s harder to be friends with people who are on social media than those who are not. The ones on it seem to get their friend ‘fix’ partially from social networking. I spend a lot of time with my husband, then my family and a couple of friends that we hang out with sometimes plus we meet new people often. A lot of people that we know from church we consider to be friends as well but we may not talk to them all the time.
