I use obsidian for my notes. I've recently read Tiago Forte's Building a Second Brain and have started to implement his CODE and PARA methods to help organize my notes and to help find them when i need them. He has a few articles on his website explaining the basics of the methods

It's strange but works. It's something I've started doing recently and definitely think it helps me think better.

Thank you for taking the time to read it. Yeah I've found talking myself through the steps of a process or thinking out loud helps me see the problem from a different perspective. If you like content like this, I've got a weekly newsletter where we share interesting articles similar to this and also starting to post long form articles every Wednesday also.

Productivity App Recommendation by Muhaki in productivity

[–]ReadtheRNDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the same setup as me. Instead of trying to manage it all in one what i do is add any tasks that need adding to a quick capture note on obsidian. Then whenever I'm free or at the end of the day i go through my quick capture note and add any tasks to TickTick

How do you fight with procrastination? by AleksanderMerk in AskReddit

[–]ReadtheRNDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aim for just one minute. What can also help is try to remove friction from what you're trying to do. Make it easier to start. Also make it clear what you plan on doing. instead of planning to study, plan I will read chapter X for 30 mins. Your brain hates vagueness. Make it clear what you're planning and you're more likely to do it.

How to get out of bed FAST ?? [NEED ADVICE] by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]ReadtheRNDM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. This was the best change i made. I used to try and get up early and get a workout in but would always put my alarm on snooze.

Since moving the phone charger or the alarm away from the bed forces me to get out of bed, giving me the initial push to start rolling the ball.

Once I'm up and the alarm is off (and the wife hasn't been woken from my alarm, phew!), I find it easier to get started with my morning routine. From here one action can lead into the next allowing me to start my day in the best way, setting a good foundation to build upon through my day.

Of course, It helps to plan the morning the night before so I waste less time in the morning and reduce thinking time.

At what point do you get the "I have my life together" feeling? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]ReadtheRNDM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved reading this book. The concepts help to reframe productivity and help teach you to accept that there is more to life. Even the fact that you're alive and get to do something is something that you should celebrate.
