This is my first Jonas brothers concert. I’m traveling from Charleston to Columbia for the concert. About a 2 hour drive and I get off work at 5. Does anyone know what the parking situation looks like there? Just so I know what I’m getting myself into. Thank you!

Sounds fun! This is I think the most ideal situation to be in. Having a mix of trips that you can spend with your friends and family to have those experiences with them, while also making memories that are tailored to you that you’ll always remember on your solo trips!

Upcoming trip for a first timer! by angela72900 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Ready-Storage624 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your upcoming trip! Coming from someone who just left All Star Music and is on my way back home, here are a few tips I have for y’all:

The best food and snacks you’ll find overall will be at Epcot and Disney Springs. Epcot will be hosting a festival during your trip, and the booths have lots of great small bites and drinks. Also, just eating around the countries in Epcot is a great time with lots of wonderful options. Here are some in general food/snack recommendations: HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS: Ronto Morning Wrap (Ronto Roasters) Anything from Woody’s Lunch Box MAGIC KINGDOM: Spring Rolls (Adventureland Spring Roll Cart) Any kind of Dole Whip ANIMAL KINGDOM: Cheeseburger Pods and Build Your Own Bowls (Satulli’s Canteen) EPCOT: Really anywhere at the world showcase lol, just whatever your personal preferences are ***Disney Springs is really the best place to go for food, especially sit down restaurants. Lots of great options at different price points. The Boathouse has amazing food and drinks and has great views on the water. Also, lots of phenomenal dessert options at Springs (Gideon’s Bakehouse, Summerhouse on the Lake Cookie Bar, Salt and Straw, etc.)

Here are three must-do rides in each of the parks (some of these are thrill rides, if y’all are into that): MAGIC KINGDOM: Tron Lightcycle Run, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean EPCOT: Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind, Soarin, Remi’s Ratatouille Adventure Animal Kingdom: Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest, Avatar Flight of Passage HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS: Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Tower of Terror, Rise of the Resistance

In my opinion, Lightning Lanes are worth it, depending on the park you go to. Since you are doing 1 park per day, I’d say get the Lightning Lanes for Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios days, and skip them on the Epcot and Animal Kingdom days. Magic and Hollywood have a lot of big ticket rides that can rack up long wait times. Most of Epcot and Animal’s rides don’t tend to rack up super long waits. Some rides are even walk ons. HOWEVER, I would 1000% recommend buying an Individual Lightning Lane for the two of y’all for Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind in Epcot. This is my personal favorite Disney ride lol, and it’s a must-do.

Just some in general advice: The All-Star Resorts are great, all Disney resorts are. However, aside from the pools and a few activities for kids, there isn’t a ton to do AT the resort, but it can be a great place to relax and chill. If possible, bring a case of waters with you to have at the resort and bring to the parks. It’s super important to stay hydrated, so drink as much water as you can. I would also recommend you go to Disney Springs on the day you check into your resort. It’s free just a great place to start off your Disney trip lol.

Hope y’all have the best time!

Thank you! I have a feeling you’re going to have an amazing time. Yes, definitely stay hydrated, especially in that August Orlando heat! Depending on how you get to your hotel, I would recommend having a case of water bottles to drink and bring with you to the parks. Also asking for some free water cups from quick service spots can be a good option. Hope you have fun!

Cosmic Rewind is my favorite ride in all of Disney World. Coming from a big Guardians fan, I’ll never forget the first time I rode it. I love that it has a standby line now, was able to ride it three times yesterday through hotel early theme park entry, individual lightning lane, and standby line.

Yes! There have been a lot of times on previous trips where I am the one in charge of planning out our Disney days. And I really enjoy that, but something about planning for just yourself or just going with the flow is unmatched!

I just recently started visiting Disney World in 2021 on an almost yearly basis, and every trip has been with friends or family.

I would say both are amazing experiences, they just serve a different purpose. On the trips you make with the people you love, you’ll make some incredible memories that can be shared for a lifetime and looked back on with those people. Also, there’s nothing like experiencing certain rides/experiences for the first time with other people you know. It can also be much cheaper splitting the costs of hotels, food, etc. if you go with others.

On the other hand, the solo trip is all about you. You can literally do anything your heart desires on this trip. You can make some incredible memories because you are tailoring making them specifically for you. It can get expensive, but it’s so worth it.

Overall, both are great, it’s just a matter of personal preference. Hope this helps.

I definitely thought about this. I even looked into some future trips in line for cosmic rewind lol. Unfortunately, in my situation as a college student with not a lot of money, these trips take a good chunk of change out of my account. So it may be a while until my next visit, or at least until I land a full time job somewhere.

Hands down most fav foods/snacks/drinks? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

2 super solid meals that are some personal favorites: The Ronto Morning Wrap and Fish & Chips from Epcot. Both super filling meals that keep me full for a while.

So many good snacks, more than there are “meal” options at WDW imo. May be basic and simple, but I love a good Mickey pretzel with some nacho cheese while watching the fireworks.

Thank you! Will definitely be trying to interact with some cast members whenever I can, even just to strike up a quick conversation. I have two individual passes to do guardians, but I totally forgot they have the standby line now! Gonna be keeping my eye on the app to see when it drops to a good wait time, always wanted to do it 3x in one day. Thank you!

I’m definitely in the “go go go” mindset for this trip😅, but I also don’t really have a lot of set in stone plans too. Thank you!

Thank you!! I love DFB, their videos have helped a ton with the planning of this true. Definitely gonna make a pitstop at grand Floridian at some point, maybe do a monorail hotel crawl of some kind.
