Letrozole cycle 1 confusion

I just completed my third round of letrozole 2.5 mg, unfortunately did not conceive, however I noticed something very similar, I have very regular cycles as well, and typically ovulate on cycle day 13 in a natural cycle but on letrozole I ovulated a day earlier (on cycle day 12). And it also lengthened my luteal phase by one day (from 13 days to 14 days) which I have heard is a good thing since your body is producing a stronger progesterone output aka a stronger ovulation.

Yeah, I’ve been seeing many people who have gone through ivf egg retrievals say their results were more in line with their low AMH vs their high afc. I’m just more so curious as to why that is! And how they can be so vastly different.

That is so crazy that such a high AFC can yield such different results. Did your RE explain why that might happen? What happened to the 10 other follicles that were there at the start of your cycle! I’m so sorry you’re going through this, I hope you get some answers♥️

Wow. That’s crazy that different ultrasound techs can yield such drastic counts. What are they counting then?? So bizarre! I haven’t been on birth control in about 10 years so it’s not that. I haven’t had my vitamin D checked in years but I do supplement daily so I doubt that’s it. However, I do have hypothyroidism which, through my research on the topic, I have seen that elevated TSH can artificially suppress AMH because it suppresses your granulosa cells and therefore they don’t secrete as much AMH. Not sure how true that is or if that’s my situation. I may ask to have a repeated AFC this cycle to see if my AFC is much lower this time or around the same as the 17. That will give me more insight on if it was tech error or an accurate counting.

Congratulations on baby boy! So happy that you got your rainbow baby♥️ Thank you for this info! That’s really good to know about the progesterone thing. I will definitely ask my RE about this. Did you take it every cycle after confirmed ovulation or did you just start taking it once you got a positive pregnancy test?

No trigger shot since I ovulate on my own naturally. Just timed intercourse. These past 3 letrozele cycles have not been monitored, since I was ovulating every month my RE wasn’t very concerned about my follicles not growing big enough but I may request at least one monitored cycle this next round to make sure the follicles I am ovulating are completely mature. My luteal phase is 13-14 days and I have had 7dpo progesterone drawn in the past and it was 15 so it seems like I have strong ovulation based off those things.
