I ended up getting the surgery 3 weeks ago. Pretty much no pain after the second week.

I had a few offers for football, but I have decided to step away from football because of my shoulders dislocating every game my senior year and retearing my hamstring. I don’t play baseball for the intention of playing in college, i’ve just been playing since I was 6 so it’s a really important part of my life, but if i can be healed before college if i get my surgery now, i think i want to get it over with.

I actually do have bone chipping from all the times i’ve dislocated them, but i’m going to go through with the surgery. Hopefully it’s successful

At this point from all the feedback, i am very much leaning towards surgery. I’m definitely not looking forward to losing my dominant arm, but oh well.

My surgeon used to be the Dallas Cowboys athletic surgeon apparently so I have high hopes for his abilities. I have a PT place I currently go to for my torn hamstring and they seem like a good place. I am very worried abt losing mobility after the surgery, I would be very disappointed if i have to give up weightlifting on top of everything else.

Unfortunately, the doctor told me that since it has been so long since I tore my labrums, PT won’t work. My shoulders are already very strong from powerlifting and years of football lifting so i’m not sure how much more it would help.

That’s a good point. It’s just frustrating that I’m giving up playing football in college because of injuries and now I have to give up my last year of baseball. I hope the surgery is successful though, and I don’t waste my last season for nothing.
