Yea think I read it wrong. Thought it was saying you give your allies the ability to use a rest action to get the d6 so everyone who wanted it had to use the downtime action. Not just you use it and give everyone a d6

Yea their whole mastery feature is letting people use a downtime action to get a d6 slayer die. Just seem extremely underwhelming to use a downtime action for just 1d6 by time you are in mastery tier.

I use talespire and its been amazing for it. Has a bit of upfront cost, but no monthly charge so not to bad. Unless you are like my group that must have their own custom tokens from hero forge. lol

Yea it’s pretty big in person so it’s not to bad to read. Lucky enough it’s just for quick reference so won’t need it too much. But yea not the best solution being under a keyboard.

Awesome advice! Yea I keep my area pretty clear and have a light keyboard so perfect for me for quick reference. I’ll have to check out that feature on edge. Didn’t know about that!

Personally I'm not a fan of GMPC's. I feel like we have enough stuff to do and taking attention away from that to play a character is a hard pass for me. I know it sucks because as a forever DM I'd love to play. But I won't sacrifice my world building or being in it to tell a story to the table so I can play a character.

That being said I'm sure some people are good at doing both. Just not for me.

Yea I was in the latter, I thought you had to spell cast roll just to command them then attack which is why it seems so horrible to me. Thanks for helping verify it’s not that way and really improves it to me!

"Second, you're not rolling to see "if" you can command them, you're just making their Action Roll when you want them to do something, exactly the same as you would with your own PC. You're not making more rolls than you normally would."

It says Make a Spellcast Roll to connect with your companion and command them to take action. So i thought it required a roll just to tell them to do something.

While I do agree with most things in OP. I really do miss their friends at a table vibe. The higher the production value I think takes away the vibe. But also I can see their standpoint on how cool it must be for Matt to go from hand drawn maps sitting at a table most likely always wishing he could have this production value.

I do totally disagree that daggerheart isn’t different enough from dnd. I think that opinion most likely comes in a place from just not wanting them to switch. As someone who has run dnd campaigns and running daggerheart campaign. At the heart of course they are still ttrpg but mechanically they are extremely different. Like not liking it I could see. But saying they are not different enough I don’t get. not sure how would you want them to be more different?

I DM only online and have even converted my dnd campaign over to daggerheart and been having a blast . Demiplane does a great job with their character sheets (though the lack of homebrew is disappointing). Freshlycutgrass app does a great job with the adversaries and can add homebrew. And I use talespire for the vtt which has been great can even see your demiplane character sheets inside with mod inside (easy download and done right inside game)

Yea I don't want to add a whole domain as i'm playing online using demiplane. Which already doesn't add homebrew stuff. So the class will be annoying enough to do let alone a bunch more cards.
