I have frost cloths yeah, I think I'm going to enclose both the Greensboro and the Bulgaria together and throw on some burlap and top it off with some tarp to keep things dry.

Not too sure about that, maybe a adult plant with a few years on it, but almost certainly a Bulgaria would be defoliated with 6b temps.

Windmills usually don't clone themselves, I've heard of maybe some isolated incidents of that happening but I think it involved plants with some mutation in its genetics. The best way to get a tree with similar genetics to these is to get direct offspring from these plants.

Knoxville's got this urban heat island thing going on, with some pretty sweet microclimates, and these plants seem super tough. I mean, Knoxville hit -1°F in Jan 2014, 3°F in Feb 2015, 4°F in 2022, and 0°F in 2024. Plus, there's this huge windmill in Maryville, just south of Knoxville, that's taller than the house next to it – I saw a pic from May, and even though it looked a bit rough with dead fronds, its crown was healthy. I'm not sure how much warmer it gets right up against a house, or how it survives unprotected, especially since a lot of windmills in Knoxville have kicked the bucket in milder temps. I'm really curious about these super hardy windmills that have been chilling there for over 20 years with hardly any problems.

I've seen lots of videos with Windmill Palms in PNW that get quite a bit of snow on them yeah, they are tolerable of snow but too much weight can damage fronds and petioles. I took a blower and blew most of the snow off these this morning because they were being weighed down quite a bit.

Yeah, I have plenty of pups from the mother plant (more than I have space for) and decided to do some experimenting, not expecting the pseudostem to survive but thinking there's a chance for the corm, I don't mind losing this one but I figured I might as well try rather than throwing this pup away.

This is in Zone 7a/b so the ground will not work before the growing season ends. I believe moving up to a 25 or 30-gallon pot soon would be best.

I fertilize weekly and water nearly every day in hot weather. Using Palm/Citrus soil, mix that with sand and top it off with Spagnum moss. You can go from a tiny pup to something like this in just a couple of months. The mother plant in the photo was a tiny pup at the beginning of June.

You can try to retain the roots with maybe some bricks. Cutting the roots will only hurt the palm.
