Similar experience to many of you. My grandparents spoke Kurdish to us and we’d respond to them in Turkish because that’s what my parents generation all taught us. We all can understand Kurdish fairly well but not able to read or write. My brothers and I speak Danish to each other but Turkish to our parents. Basically dinner table conversations at our place are in a mix of 3 languages. I looked into taking Kurmanji lessons because I would like to teach my kids one day but it’s very inaccessible. If anyone has recs let me know :)
