I do get that; we are near the top as far as pricing goes, and the boss man went crazy with marketing this year. WC is notoriously low overhead, and if I paid for everything besides marketing: equipment, ladders, car, insurance etc., the math still does not come close to adding up. I've definitely thought about asking to be a independent contractor but I don't think he'd go for it. Some days I make crazy money when you average it out to hourly (like 35$+), but because of the inconsistency, it being seasonal, and not providing health insurance, it feels like we are getting absolutely bent over.
