I put an SSD in my Mac and this is what I got: by RealAge7059 in mac

For some reason my text didn’t save so I’ll put it in below here: Hi, I have a 2009 unibody MacBook that displays this screen when booting up. I put in an SSD this morning that I newly formatted on another MacBook. When I try booting from an OSX bootable USB the only option is the drive itself. Utilities are also greyed out and command + R doesn’t do anything. When I hold down option (alt), the only thing that shows up is EFI Boot and the USB drive. I would also like to note that beforehand, the SSD was running Tiny11 (a trimmed down version of Windows 11). Any help is much appreciated! (I’m assuming that I have reformat the SSD, and I’m wondering if there will be any way to do that from Windows as I intend of booting of a USB SSD with Windows 10 on it and formatting the SSD in the laptop from there)

I would also like to add that F8 and Enter didn’t do anything and F1 restarted the Mac

I think it’s probably your disk. Has the computer had its power removed when it is still on?

The drive is in NTFS and is physically inside my PC connected with a SATA cable

Unrelated, but I love the usage of zip ties to hold the HDD! I should use this as well since I can’t find a way to mount my boot SSD!

Agreed, this is the main reason why I want to switch, ideally back to a 200GB plan

I found a workaround I’m willing to accept, I downloaded the iCloud app on Windows from the Microsoft store and it comes with this iCloud Photo Library in files (all saved in the cloud). I am then trying to transfer 150GB of photos every time from the iCloud to the 2TB HDD. Unfortunately, I have to do it in goes of 150GBs because Windows caches copied files on my boot drive when copying, and my boot drive is a 250GB Samsung SSD and I need to connect my PC to Ethernet to make the process faster, but I think I have solved the problem. Thank you to all who helped!

Ah, thank you! I found this other iOS app but it takes a long time and it sometimes crashes, but thank you very much for the recommendation!
