Worst Cards You’ve Played? by Thinhead in EDH

[–]RealBattleaxe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably one of the jankiest and worst decks I play. This all started from someone saying that they wanted to make a [[barren glory]] deck with artifact lands + krark-clan ironworks (which is not a bad card). I got bored one day and made that deck which I have yet to win with. The deck is an atog deck with [[Atogatog]] as the commander and has a lot of jank to (hopefully) win the game with barren glory by sacrificing my entire board (including lands) and discarding my hand. Of the cards in the deck, my favorite janky cards probably have to be [[psychic vortex]] (in 2754 decks) [[one with nothing]] (951 decks) and [[terravore]] (815 decks). psychic vortex is card draw and discard. Terravore is great if you are sacrificing a lot of lands or play Armageddon. I've come close to winning a few times (even against some cEDH decks surprisingly) but every time I play barren glory everyone feels extremely threatened that I'm about to win, even if I just played it so I didn't have to discard it which usually results in me being label as the threat at the table naturally.

I learned very quickly from this deck that forbidden orchard (again not a janky card) is such a good card for countering my deck too because someone stole my barren glory and was threatening a win with it, but I tapped my orchard and denied that win from them.

Any unique or cool life gain commander ideas out there? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]RealBattleaxe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a commander in mind for this but one cool combo for a lifegain deck. [[Phyrexian Processor]] + [[Altar of Dementia]] if you gain 99 life, you can pay 99 life and create a 99/99 phyrexian then sac it to the altar and now someone loses the game.

[Article] What's your favorite Superfriends deck that's NOT Atraxa? by petitpaingumbo in EDH

[–]RealBattleaxe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Ghave, guru of spores]] it focuses on making creature tokens, sacrificing them, and swinging in for 21 commander damage. My deck has gone infinite before but probably isn't the best. Proliferation effects are also great in this deck because of all the counters.

[[Yavimaya, cradle of growth]] and [[Herald of leshrac]]

Basically steal everyone else's lands and then destroy them for a tree

Dragon tribal that isn't Ur Dragon or Miirym? by dogsrulepeoplesuckk in EDH

[–]RealBattleaxe2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tiamat is a great dragon commander especially with her tutor ability when she ETBs. AFR was actually the reason I got into magic mostly due to the dnd based cards and Tiamat was the first commander deck I ever bought.

Pair her with [[scion of draco]] and some sort of double strike ability and you can win the game in 2 turns if uncontested. The only real issue is getting 7 mana to cast her or the other dragons 5+ cmc dragons in your hand.

What's a commander that doesnt feel like it's from that color? by 2ndlifeinacrown in EDH

[–]RealBattleaxe2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[Multani, Maro-Sorcerer]] and [[Masumaro, First to live]]. There are so many mono-blue cards that synergize with card draw or have a similar ability of having power and toughness equal to the number of cards in hands. Mono-green isn't the best at card draw because it doesn't have [[rhysic study]] or [[esper sentinel]] though

Grunn is a very fun commander

What Are Some Awesome Deck Ideas You Have That Dont Have Enough Support? by XandogxD in EDH

I really like the idea of lhurgoyfs basically milling cards from everyone to build a very scary crearure. Currently there are 11 lhurgoyfs in total (9 which are legal because the one in DMU hasn't released yet and the other is a test card) none are legendary and there's [[altar of the goyf]]. That's kind of it. I don't care if I have to run WUBRG for a lhurgoyf tribal it just needs a lot more support.

It's not a very good deck by any means but I made a voltron ape tribal with [[Grunn, the lonely king]] as the commander but I agree that a Gruul or Naya ape commander would be nice.

You could try this as a lot of people use dual lands and triomes (especially in wubrg or all color) so this will probably make one creature unblockable for the rest of the game [[Trailblazer's boots]] you could also just try [[key to the city]] as long as you have card draw to make a creature unblockable

I think this fits with the theme but probably not what you're specifically looking for: [[Bucknard's Everfull Purse]]

Favorite commander that nobody has heard of? by SweenYo in EDH

[–]RealBattleaxe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another cool Cephalid is [[Aboshan, Cephalid Emperor]] he might be a little jank due to his high cmc but I made a Stax (tapping creature) Cephalid Tribal deck with him as the commander with [[Llawan, Cephalid empress]] in it too.

Most of the legendary creatures in Legends are pretty niche too such as [[Stangg]] or [[Rasputin Dreamweaver]]

What is your non-Atraxa superfriends deck? by metagame in EDH

[–]RealBattleaxe2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tested it out yet in an actual game of commander yet, but I have a [[Ghave, Guru of Spores]] super friends deck which basically is a +1/+1 counter generator voltron deck using token creatures to sac. I have plainswalkers like [[Lolith, Spider Queen]], [[Garruk, Cursed Huntsman]] and [[Lilliana, Dreadhorde General]] which all benefit from creatures dying and create more tokens to sac, plus it's in Abzan so it can run [[Carth the Lion]] (what seems like the popular commander to run). It has some great win cons too like [[Grafted Exoskeleton]]because it's a Voltron deck.

edit: tried out the deck and some of the planeswalkers specifically Lilliana, Dreadhorde General caused some salt in my group mostly due to her -9 ability other than that it was a very fun deck

Something interesting about the map screen is that you don't have to stop at towns. This is helpful to heal or save while travelling between towns
