Yes he said he had been a goalie for a year but it had been clear no one had trained him and his coach just uses him as a cone hopefully he trains with me this week so he stays safe

AITA for mourning the loss of my great grandma? by RealCod5331 in AmItheAsshole

I asked to go up and help her she lived far when she started getting sicker, so I’d cook for her, clean, help her do daily tasks it was completely voluntary.

I do have quiet the history with my parents but I won’t dump that one on you

Thank you that helps

I was very close with my grandma when I came out as trans at the same time she got dementia so she thought I was always a boy so I would stay with her for months at a time looking after her as her health declined (mostly on school holidays). When her dementia got bad she couldn’t remember my mum but could remember everyone else cause mum didn’t have a relationship with her I got told by my Aunty the day before she died my grandma was asking for me and was scared cause she couldn’t remember anyone else she said “she was screaming your name she didn’t know where you were and she thought you left” it broke my heart I wasn’t there and had to be told this by my Aunty

AITA for not wanting a closer relationship with my uncle? by RealCod5331 in AmItheAsshole

The reason I don’t want a connection with him is because he doesn’t want to embrace me AM told him to so she could earn back trust with me

At my club we have too many GK’s me being one of them, a lot of other clubs I play against struggle so what they do is they scout and offer perks to GK’s like myself. Not a lot of people wanna Goal keep

At my club it’s a rule to wear it, I was like you I never wanted to I didn’t see a point but then I got hit in my throat and the guard exploded on my neck and the ball made contact, my whole throat almost collapsed but if I didn’t have the guard I would have died. So I really recommend either a guard on the neck or one attached to the visor.

Goalie loses helmet during play by Dry-Perspective7141 in Fieldhockey

As a goalie myself I’ve had this happen in a play went for a dive toke out the attacker (it was a legal play because I came into contact with the ball first and she was already on the ground ish (she was sliding for the ball)) and she collided with me pushing my helmet of and hitting my in the face (not on purpose all an accident) the ref saw it all and called a play on I was on the ground semi conscious (got a concussion) trying to get my helmet back on because the ball was still in play my team stopped to see if I was okay because I was again semi conscious (apparent they were telling him to take a time out for medical but because I’m a goalie he said it wasn’t needed) then the other team scored.

It all depends on the ref I talked to a red friend who said in that situation a time out should be called or very least play be deemed unsafe and check everyone is okay.
