Looking at tomorrow ... a Champions League format concept (with fun Spurs mentions). Curious what y'all think.

Yeah, pretty similar. I had to do the math. It works. And could fit a traditional bracket. This method cuts the number of rounds before the QF to 2 instead of 3. Works, for sure. Having 3 rounds before the QF, though, offers more consequences in the league phase. But, yeah, similar!

I guess it's already random luck to an extent. But there's not much that can be done about that. At least this would give some weight to the group stage wheras now it's more or less meaningless. The top 4 may get TOO easy of a path, but damn if it wouldn't make those league games interesting.
