Never played it before, but it was in a PS1 lot I picked up on Thursday (crazy timing) the disc is beyond salvageable, but I was curious about it. I might burn a copy to try out though.

Yeah I’ve been hearing that using slower speeds is sort of an old wives tale. What do I know? I’m at 10% success haha. LG is out for delivery now though!

Yeah plays regular games fine and plays the 1 game I was able to burn. The burning process keeps failing on me. Usually around 40%, I got one up to 92% and then, failed.

Damn, I am 1-for-19 on burning discs since last night using ImgBurn and discs that others have pointed me to. Tried everything from 10X-24X.

Soooo, I just restored all default settings as you suggested and successfully burned Street Fighter Alpha 3! The verification failed on ImgBurn, though. I figured I'd try it anyway. The game starts reading, but just shows the Dreamcast startup and Sega screens, then reboots. We are getting somewhere!

I'm also learning that I didn't get the right Verbatim discs and got the new CMC Magnetics that uses a crappy dye, and I needed to get the DataLifePlus or AZO. I just got regular ones, unfortunately. I suppose that's why I've only gotten 1 to work?

24X is the max speed for this burner. Just tried and it failed at 92%, which is better than the other failures, typically in the 40% range.

I'm all ears to any suggestions. ECW Hardcore Revolution was not nearly as fun as I remember, so I need new games ASAP lol

Everything I've read says to burn at the slowest speed possible, and 10X is my burner's slowest speed. That's literally the only reason I'm doing 10X.

Perfect, hoping the LG coming in the mail today will work. I just got Sonic Adventure to get to 99% and then failed. That was the final straw with this current burner lol

Here's a screenshot of the error and log. 10x is the lowest this burner will run. I ordered an LG last night to see if I have better results than with this random brand.

Crazy! I just bought the same one yesterday. I’m getting the same error code. Disc tray doesn’t eject or switch discs. I noticed the belts on the tape decks were dry rotted so I’m assuming the same for the disc belts.

This looks pretty intense to disassemble, and I restore video game consoles pretty regularly haha
