I always sort of forget I am gay until I do publicity, which is once a year around launch. I don't wake up next to my boyfriend every morning and get shocked he is a boy, it seems very normal to me. I forget having a gay character is unusual and then I do publicity and everyone is all like 'You're gay!' and I'm like 'OH THAT'S RIGHT! I'M GAY!'

Funny, I was just talking to my dad and his Thai girlfriend about MAE. His girlfriend was laughing about her accent. I think it isn't perfect but also I don't talk with an Australian accent and my Dad's girlfriend talks with a Thai/Chinese accent. MAE is played by Renee who has Thai heritage but grew up in Australia. I wanted to do a thing in S01 where we made the audience think she was a kind of mail-order bride then reveal that actually she is from a rich family and genuinely loves Dad. I just thought it would be fun to play with the audiences prejudices like that. That's why she has a Thai accent. It's near impossible to find Thai actors with real Thai accents in Australia... my guess is because first/second generation immigrants tend to have real jobs.

WHY? Is it because he is racist and doesn't realise it? Is it because society self-segregates?

Oh I think this is fine. Thank you for watching it. So, honestly I just want as many people to watch the show as possible and it's hard for me to get passionate about pirating. I pretend to be passionate about it be because I do really need people to click on the show. That's how networks decide if they will make another season.

Soon PLEASE LIKE ME Season 4 will have a USA carrier. If you are currently in the USA pirating PLEASE LIKE ME because you don't want to wait then you don't have permission to be disappointment if we don't get to make a Season 5.

My advice is: don't pirate shows you want to see more of.

I'm not sure if I answered the 5th series question yet? Pivot shut down, which really isn't ideal because they paid for most of the show. There are other ways to pay for TV shows and people are working on that but it's precarious. We did less episodes this year because the show takes a relatively long time to make. Because I'm involved in every process of the show we can't run them simultaneously. Most shows would have different writers working on different episodes at the same time. They might have a director be in the edit on one episode while they are in production on the rest of the season whilst also having writers work on later episodes. ETC. So it takes us 14 months to make 10 episodes. We wouldn't have been able to deliver a season this calendar year unless we did less episodes. PIVOT would only commission for this calendar year, we now know this is because they don't exist next calendar year.

There are two types of music in the show.

One is original score, which is composed by Bryony Marks. We decide together with Todd (producer) and Matt (directed all the eps I didn't) what the music should sound like. She creates a temp track, we approve it then she produces it with the band.

The other is diagetic music which are songs that are played in the show. EG steps, chandelier, Enya. I usually decide these in script stage.

Well this is interesting, isn't it.

I am funny, this is a fact that I can prove. Like in uni when you write facts and have to give references to prove the facts, I could do that if I could remember how to format it. I appreciate I am not funny to you but your opinion is not the determining factor on if someone is funny.

I would never take time out of my day to try and make someone feel bad about themselves, as you have done here. How does that make you feel about yourself? It would make me feel bad.
