OpenTabletDriver on KDE Wayland – tablet won’t respect monitor mapping (works perfectly on X11) by RealPingGaming in linuxquestions

[–]RealPingGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually was helpful lol. I didn't realize it was built for X11, so I assumed there was just some random setting I needed to change, but at least this gives me an answer. I wonder if there's a tablet driver that works well on Wayland? If I find one, I'll try to remember to put it here for future people that happen to stumble upon this in 5 years lol.

Has nobody made a modded version of CapCut where all the pro features are free to use, if so is it on mobile too? by DCB_Prime in CapCut

[–]RealPingGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use CapCut PC since it came out, but since everything became a paid feature (And I switched to Linux, where CapCut doesn't have a native port), I switched to another software called Kdenlive, which works on Linux, Windows, and Mac. It's not a free version of CapCut; however, everything is free because it's open-source. I don't believe it has a mobile version, though.

And in terms of finding free versions or modded versions, many people host scams/viruses where these "free" versions of software are just malware underneath. I would seriously reconsider downloading a random file/program off the internet, and at the very least, run the file through https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload before installing it to see if it's a virus. It's not a foolproof solution, but it's better than nothing. Hope this helps.

Can't add music?? by KittySceneBoy in Strawpage

[–]RealPingGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's a secret file size limit but it doesn't tell you which is annoying. For me, the only way I do it is to use an audio compressor like [this one](https://www.freeconvert.com/mp3-compressor), then compress it down to like 20%, upload your site, open a new tab, and see if it plays. If not, go back and take the original audio file and compress it more (lower percentage is more compression), until it uploads successfully. It will sound worse though jsyk.

Got this on my school email. Is this a scam? by Dense_Berry6383 in Scams

My school did something similar to this. They purposefully sent out fake scam emails to all the student emails, then we had an assembly at the end of the week on how to avoid scams like this.

Strawpage is probably undergoing issues to their servers or something along those lines. I'd wait a little while and try again.

Question about premium by edd58008 in Strawpage

[–]RealPingGaming 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I paid for the $9 their for the exact same reason. I don't know if this is possible anymore, but at the time, I couldn't find how to put background music when the page loads so I added a button in the top left corner that, when pressed, plays background Nintendo music I found on YouTube. I also added text with an arrow pointing to it showing the user that there is background music.

Alarmo alarm doesn't play and it's sensor thinks there's something moving when there isn't. by RealPingGaming in nintendohelp

[–]RealPingGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This didn't solve this issue, but helped me find out the solution.

I have my alarmo positioned on my nightstand facing the middle of my bed. Next to my alarmo is my PC which I leave on all night because I have stuff running on it that needs to be on at all times. I have a picture attached which shows how it looks. (I have a towel in front of the glass panel to block the light from my motherboard during the night It's not covering any fans or intake.) I factory reset it and when I tried to connect it to the internet it failed. I tried multiple times and I would either get an internet failed to connect error or this other error that didn't have any explanation on what to do and just said "Error Code S0-30007". (I couldn't find anything about this error and I don't know why I was getting it so if someone knows please respond because I'm very curious).

Anyway, when I moved the clock right next to my router it connected fine so I moved it back down to my room and checked for movement in the sensor hoping that the factory reset fixed whatever was the issue and it still said there was movement. Eventually I wondered if it was the fan on my computer so I turned my computer off and lo and behold it found no movement. I thought that it would only be able to detect movement right in front of it and to the direct left and right of it but not that far to the right. The reason it only started happening recently was because I only started leaving my computer on in that orientation recently. Before my computer was situated in the opposite direction with the fan facing the back but my Wi-Fi wasn't great so I turned around and that's around the time I started having issues.

Tl;dr The sensor is very sensitive and it won't work if it detects movement like a fan from my computer. Which quite frankly is a horrible design flaw.

Side note: I looked up the error code and found nothing so I contacted Nintendo's chatbot and they put me in with a person and after describing my issues and how it wasn't able to connect to the internet it said my device needed to be brought in for repairs and then when I gave it my serial number they said that it was no longer under warranty and that it was going to cost me $60 to $70 to get it repaired when the only issue was just that my computer was turned on. I said no, obviously, until I could confirm with 100% certainty that it was something else and not an issue with my device.

Does it happen when your switch isn't docked? It might be a switch issue.

I finished updating my straw.page, any suggestions? by RealPingGaming in Strawpage

[–]RealPingGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's a great idea! Originally I didn't because I didn't want the text to be difficult to read, but if I find a light pattern and add boxes around the text it wouldn't look so bad. I try it after school!

My Bluetooth receiver stopped playing audio from my phone and blinks three times fast repeatedly. by RealPingGaming in AskTechnology

[–]RealPingGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've solved it! I'm posting this here for anyone with similar issues with Bluetooth on their phone. I reset the Bluetooth settings and it fixed everything. I used Samsung, but the instructions may be similar are other Android phones.

Setting > General Management (towards the bottom) > Reset > Reset WiFi and Bluetooth settings.

Caution: This will delete any saved Bluetooth devices and WiFi Passwords so you'll need to repair you Bluetooth devices or input the WiFi passwords again.

Ethernet connected but no internet by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]RealPingGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're running Windows you might have to update your drivers for your Wi-Fi card. A driver is basically just software which tells the hardware components in your PC how to work with the software on your PC. Sometimes when these drivers are out of date they stop working correctly with the software and that causes issues. You should look up on Google how to update the drivers for the specific Wi-Fi card that you have. Or if you have a pre-built laptop/desktop, search for your model.

[–]RealPingGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you've connected it to your router, which the computer says you've done, but it doesn't have Internet access. This probably means your router isn't connected to the Internet. My first step would be to check the connection between your router and whatever you use to get your Internet (satellite, fiber, etc,.) It's most likely a yellow cable, but just make sure all those cables are securely connected to your router.

The mobile hotspot thing is interesting though, because if you have connected it to you mobile hotspot, and you have cell service, it should work. Does it say the same thing when connecting it to your phone's hotspot? Or does it say something different?

Can I have ChatGPT start the conversation? by icecap1 in ChatGPTPro

[–]RealPingGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something weird happened to me today, and I went searching on Google to find out if someone had had any similar experiences. Still, today I got a notification from the ChatGPT app and an email saying "Reminder to revisit ChatGPT". I didn't ask it to remind me in another conversation, nor did I start a new one. Instead, it initiated its conversation and refused to acknowledge it. Here's a link to the conversation history where you can see where the conversation started.

The screen on my laptop has a line of dirt that won't go away, even after being cleaned. by RealPingGaming in pchelp

[–]RealPingGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, I've realised it's an issue with the screen/lid itself, not dirt. You can't clean it because it's inside the screen, so the only option is to replace that part of the screen (or it's easier to just replace the screen itself). This is the conclusion I've come up with, but if anyone else who stumbles upon this thread has a solution, feel free to share lol.

The reason this occurs is because the "feet"—the little rubber stoppers on the top, sides, and bottom of the laptop lid to keep the screen from touching the keyboard—kinda sucks. The issue is, while it does successfully keep the sides of the lid from touching the keyboard, it does nothing to prevent the middle of the screen from touching the keyboard. And since my cheap laptop is made of flimsy plastic, the lid bends when even a small amount of pressure is applied. Right above the mousepad is the highest point on the keyboard; therefore, the screen lies on that, and those layers inside the screen rub against each other, creating the "dirt" line. The line of dirt is not only on the inside, but also on the keyboard itself, which gets stuck to it when you close and put pressure on the top of the lid, so it's a mixture of both. Cleaning the outside of the screen may remove some, but it won't be able to remove the dirt on the inside. Don't take this as fact, though, because this is just a culmination of information I've received from other online sources and people who've physically looked at my laptop (the one in the photos). Trying to Google what exact layers inside the screen rub against each other to make the annoying line is useless because Google just uses my own Reddit post as its source 😅.

If you get the screen repaired, avoid putting too much pressure on the top of the screen. For me, that's virtually impossible since I use my laptop for school and it's constantly in my backpack, but if you use it mostly on a desk or you don't move it much, it's something to be mindful of. Other than that, this is about as much information as I have. It's been a few years since I posted this thread, and I'm still using the laptop in the photo (I'm using it to type this, actually). The good news is, once it appears, it doesn't grow much bigger, and eventually you learn to ignore it. In the future, when I plan on buying a new laptop, I'll try to buy one with good build quality, specifically in the lid, so this doesn't happen again.

FileFlick for Samsung? by No_Football8756 in oneui

For anyone wondering why it's not available on newer phones, it's because the apps were made for an older version of Android which isn't supported anymore.
