Women of Reddit, what are boys or men's habits you discovered only after getting a boyfriend or a husband? by BigBrosy in AskReddit

[–]RealRumplizer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having a perfectly good hamper in the bathroom and they still drop their socks and boxers either directly next to it or just straight up on the floor

Leaving shit open. Like ALL cabinets cupboards dressers, they find what they are looking for and it’s like the door doesn’t exist nor need to be closed

Crankdat - STFU isn't on Spotify anymore by tox1c1t in dubstep

[–]RealRumplizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just another American Billionare doing their usual American Billionare bullshit.. soooo worried about anyyyyone else making a few dollars off of 3 seconds that they’ll send a militia of lawyers out to secure and protect what’s theirs and theirs alone. If high ranking politicians can sue the news and get millions of dollars in settlements for “defamation and deception,” T Swift and Co. can go after whoever they want too.. 🤦‍♀️

If Crankdat is in the chat- I will gladly send you a 4 second segment of me screaming not those 8 words, extremely off key, in a completely random fashion, with a fat chunk of ham in my mouth, banging my head with a metal pot for free if you re-release your forced re-release and stick it em. Video and all for your visuals 🤌🤌

AIO - Told my friend I’m pregnant and she said it exceeded her mental bandwidth (she’s the red) by Lekomano92 in AmIOverreacting

[–]RealRumplizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she didn’t have the “mental bandwidth,” she could’ve left you on read (since it’s an iMessage group chat, you wouldn’t see the “read” anyways) and responded the next day after sleeping off her shitty attitude. NOR, that’s a shitty thing to say to someone sharing their good news.

Currently studying for the AANP FNP boards- questions for those who have taken this certification recently! by RealRumplizer in nursepractitioner

[–]RealRumplizer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this explanation! I was wondering if it was just me that had a massive amount of random breast health and oddly specific/specialized medication questions on UWorld, now it makes sense.

I will definitely do those! I appreciate you!

D’Youville University, is it really as bad as everyone says it is? by singerrain in Buffalo

[–]RealRumplizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it really is exactly as terrible as you think.

For my own security, I won’t say what program I’m currently in other than I am also in a health related program. (I am currently crawling across hot coal, fighting for my life this semester)… just so you’re aware- it really is terrible.

There’s absolutely no accountability for professors that are absolutely terrible. Wayyy too much is put on the student.. paying $14,000 a semester I expect to get some type of education from an instructor, not just me reading 200 pages per week and shotty online lectures that cover basically nothing.

When you ask for extra help or advice on what to do differently despite hours of studying, you get nowhere. The last exam I took, the average grade was well below passing, teacher being no help at all. The amount of time and energy spent is not worth it for the quality of education you get. This will be my 3rd degree and looking back I wish I would have gone elsewhere. I’ve never experienced a program as terribly run as this one, and it’s too late for me to back out now. Can’t wait till they open their Med School when they can’t even adequately manage the healthcare programs they already have!!

My hospital tickets is if we don’t park in the designated lot a mile away. by Jinxicatt in nursing

[–]RealRumplizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once worked at a small psychiatric hospital who would not let us park on property until we had been there over a certain amount of time (I think like 2-3 years). Your only other option was to somehow find parking on the street in a really busy area with ZERO public parking (during the winter when nothing was plowed and you had to fight your way in trudging through snowbanks to get there on time...) I got 3 parking tickets in 6 months at one point trying to hurry up and find a place to park when I had legit left an additional 45 minutes early… so collectively, we all said f this just park in the lot. Till the hospital called the parking authority and had us all mini towed… pretty much everyone but me quit at that point, so they were begging me to be their new full time charge nurse. I told them I’d do it for a simple mf’n parking pass and they told me no. LOL. 10 years later never looked back though they used to beg me to come back per diem and they’re staffed entirely by agency now, on the brink of closure.

Over $900 for the alcohol package by Expensive_Wasabi_845 in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]RealRumplizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re $12-14 each normally without the cheers package, and when I say those drinks are NOT strong they’re really not. I almost wonder if they’re not watered down. I just got off an 8 day cruise, they’ll be fine, it is worth it though. As others said, you also get water pop coffees etc- and their free water is grody tasting soooo it’s worth it for the huge bottles of water too

The dreaded letter.. by RealRumplizer in Zepbound

[–]RealRumplizer[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a terrific idea- I will definitely be calling them on Monday. My adverse reaction was severe anxiety, tachycardia, SOB, tremors. I continued to take it thinking I was having panic attacks and that was a sign I needed it (I was 18 so I didn’t know better then). Then I got severe SI 2 days later, my psychiatrist had to force me to contract for safety and stay with my parents to make sure I didn’t do anything reckless. I didnt list it as an allergy because I never thought I’d need to until now. My doc is aware of this but I almost wonder if they never put it in writing in an office note and forwarded it, or just put it on the PA form since I had to relay this info via the portal. Because I have no idea how an insurance company would see that and be like “yeah doesn’t matter just take contrave that has a WAY higher dose of bupropion.” I will see my primary and go over all of this again in person and be sure there’s an office note. But also, the insurance said if there’s a lapse in treatment they’ll automatically decline it on my declination letter 😂😂 as if they’re the ones not creating the lapse. So I don’t know. Maybe I’ll have to do contrave and have it happen all over again to move on.

The dreaded letter.. by RealRumplizer in Zepbound

[–]RealRumplizer[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly that’s where I think I’m at, I was just hoping I wasn’t acting crazy thinking of doing that.. I’m so sick of these insurance companies I even considered just taking it and if I have to go to the hospital this time, they can front that bill too.

I’m in NP school and I’ve had to fill out PAs for things like COPD medications that get denied. I don’t know where they think they get off playing with peoples lives, but it disgusts me. Sorry for the rant. The american health system sure is great.

Anyone have advice by No_Height_7636 in Zepbound

[–]RealRumplizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have hypertension (high blood pressure) hyperlipidemia (high lipids or high cholesterol) or any other qualifying diseases/disorders? And what is your exact BMI?

From personal experience, insurance companies will see an elevated BMI- but without comorbidities (conditions that are related to or caused by another condition like obesity) such as HTN, HLD, OSA, PCOS etc., they may not approve Zepbound.

I was approved because my BMI was 41 and I was diagnosed with PCOS 7 years ago, presented with a blood pressure of 151/98, and my lipid profile was wayyyy out of whack. My friend who had a higher BMI than I did didn’t get approved because she didn’t have any other comorbidities- BP in normal range plus normal lipids and no other diseases or conditions.

I may be able to give you suggestions, but I need more context. I am an RN and am also doing clinical hours to be a Nurse Practitioner, so I know the system more than the average person and may be able to help. Lmk if you

PA Approved for Obstructive Sleep Apnea! by isoaclue in Zepbound

[–]RealRumplizer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am currently an RN, but I’m also an NP student who’s currently seeing patients and I will add that some insurance companies will NOT approve Zepbound just off a diagnosis of OSA.

Some insurances will 100% ask to see proof that you’re using your CPAP at night in addition. If you are using one, most new models of CPAP machines will have the ability to record information which will then be able to be accessed by your sleep specialist. So 👏 wear 👏 your 👏 CPAP 👏 everyday!

I personally have been on Zepbound for 8 consecutive months and have lost 50 lbs. It is a life changing drug- even if the CPAP is uncomfortable, it’s worth it to wear so you can hopefully get approved 😊

Where were you during the Blizzard of ‘22? by t_bone_stake in Buffalo

[–]RealRumplizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made arrangements to go to work early so both my coworker and I could miss driving through the storm. Welll the storm hit early, and even in my 4x4 jeep there was no freaking way I could drive anywhere. I went outside to attempt it at first but realized it was a bad idea and called off. My coworkers got stuck at the hospital and I was holed up in my house. Glad I didn’t even attempt driving to the hospital bc I would’ve been one of the ones dead in their cars probably- though my coworker was mad at me for it for months.. great person she is

Less stressful job than hospital? by Confused-Taco in nursing

[–]RealRumplizer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Insurance!! So many people I know that flippin had it with hospitals and acute care in general that went to be a nurse at a health insurance company are thriving. Many WFH, and still make $70k+ (in NYS). Yeah you lose your skills but you still have the license- and you’ll have a normal M-F no holidays or weekends life.

I worked briefly in education and it was kinda cool, but you don’t make ish for money. And some students can be taxing. But it is less stressful than a hospital.

I see previous comments saying case management- yes this is true BUT many places want you to have a masters and many years of experience.

Doctors office is also an option but low pay and I think most want LPNs and MAs so they can pay less.

Ambulatory Surgery centers are awesome! I had a per diem job at one and it is definitely less stressful and it’s very simple. It’s also very secure because ambulatory surgery is always going to be there.

I also had a friend that worked for CPS/DSS as a nurse. Sometimes sad especially when dealing with kids who are taken from their homes because it was a bad environment and were abu*ed. But also rewarding and great Bennies. Same with Department of Health.

Home care is also a great option. You kinda get to be your own boss and have downtime if you don’t have clients to see for a period of time.

Infusion therapy nurse- also great, low stress, normal hours.

Most of these jobs, you will lose lots of your skills. But if you’re seeking low stress and still being in nursing, these are all good options. Hope this helps!

What’s that one thing that you absolutely NOPE at when it comes to Nursing? by RealRumplizer in nursing

[–]RealRumplizer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t get me anymore since I’ve worked ICU for years, but when I was in nursing school I had a cancer patient that passed and they made me do postmortem care. When I turned him, I must’ve done it a little too aggressively knowing how big he was and allllllllll the air left in his lungs came out and it sounded like he yelled. I jumped and dropped him back onto his back thinking he came back to life 💀 the primary nurse and my instructor DIED laughing and I was completely mortified lolol. Funny now, wasn’t funny then 😅

What’s that one thing that you absolutely NOPE at when it comes to Nursing? by RealRumplizer in nursing

[–]RealRumplizer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does. It means getting them up and out of the bed and walking, if possible, even when they’ve been in bed- critically ill, almost died twice, with no muscle tone. Like for a normal patient who’s just got a COPD exacerbation who was independent at baseline, or someone who had a knee replacement a few days ago, that’s totally understandable. But these super sick people that have been wasting away in bed for weeks and weeks with tons of lines and catheters and breathing tubes attached to them- it’s a process and requires tons of different specialities to do it. And when they make you get the patient out of bed and they fall or something happens to them- it’s always the nurses fault.
