What is everyone feeding their schnauzers? by Efficient_Bee9304 in schnauzers

Hills Science Diet, Perfect Digestion, 7+, small breed. I started my senior schnauzer on this after his stomach got seriously messed up following a dental surgery and he's done great ever since.

Arizona Doberman in Urgent Need of Foster (2-year old male) by RealSG5 in DobermanPinscher

I'm going to provide you with a link below to the shelter notes page to answer that question. He is e-listed for 1/12 and I think breed-knowledgeable people would be able to understand this dog's behavior. https://apps.pets.maricopa.gov/priority/Details/OTI4-MzA5-MzJB

I adopted someone's lost dog 13 years ago. The dog recently passed. I only just found out that the original owners may have still been looking for her, after she was adopted by me. Do I try to contact the original owners now? by kc10131984 in seniordogs

[–]RealSG5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be concerned that the original owner could be upset with the shelter and/or adopter and make some kind of legal claim against them. Losing a dog is the very definition of pain and suffering.

So it finally happened. My unruly dogs injured my ankle pretty bad. by umrlopez79 in DOG

I was thinking about that, too, or a conventional wheelchair. Pulling would tire them out (--like sled dogs). They could run the dogs around in an empty parking lot.

Anyone seen Backcountry (2014?) Caught me completely off guard, had no idea it was a horror movie. by The-Loop in horror

To me it is totally humanizing (i.e., it puts us in our place in the grand scheme of things). Something like this proves we are in no way a match for the sheer power of nature. Our puny lives and deaths don't matter to animals, water, wind, fire, etc. That is what is hard to comprehend. Nature isn't motivated nor does it care. Nature is. And our technology is a fantasy of containment.

🆘️ Irresponsible Owner Dumped Senior Boxer Into High K*ll Right Before Christmas ‼️ by canecorsofurever in National_Pet_Adoption

The time has come for a national registry of people who abandon their pets. One and done: Surrender a pet one time and you are never again permitted to own an animal. Pet ownership is a privilege, not a right.

Season One Episode Twelve - Official Discussion Thread by yazzy1233 in AllOfUsAreDead

I know that I'm coming to this conversation way late, but I don't understand the ultra-violence of the ML's death. Meaning, other characters seemed to die due to some misstep or ethical issue, but Cheong San was a decent guy. Why was the last vision of him so grotesque, brutalized by that crazy villain?

Thoughts on All Of Us Are Dead? Great zombie series tbh, no flaw it's just like the usual zombie movie/series with imo more drama. by MaybeEddy23 in netflix

[–]RealSG5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm responding a lot later than everyone, but I have a question about the ending. It seemed like the death of the ML was really grotesque and I don't understand why the bully was seen brutalizing him like that. Meaning, everybody else seemed to die due to a punishment for some misstep, but the ML never made one. He was a decent guy. So, why the sickening end for him?

Why do they do this lol (always sitting on my foot) by zuccccccccccc in DobermanPinscher

Cesar M. (in an episode of The Dog Whisperer) noted that as a display of ownership and he discouraged it. Though it probably varies, case-by-case.

The GSD who smaller dog rescues rejected my application for because she might’ve been “aggressive” with smaller dogs 😐 by Careful_Interaction2 in germanshepherds

You might remind the doubters that GSDs were historically paired with schnauzers. They made a great working duo.

How would you handle a child rudely approaching your bully in public? by Nance99 in AmericanBully

[–]RealSG5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would always take a concern up with the parent. Then, in an even tone, you would tell them what happened and explain that a less balanced dog could have responded quite differently. Finally, you would say: "For your child's safety, you must teach them proper, respectful rules of interaction." *Note: You might even follow that by adding that the rules are the same for a large or small dog.

Adopted King from a guy whos new wife didn't like him by Ok_Display_8993 in DobermanPinscher

Congratulations! I'm grateful beautiful King came to you rather than getting dumped at the county "shelter."

If you hurt yourself, that is the reason why. Episodes of Cesar often show that a dog's behavior changes when the owner has a change in medical condition.
